About the blogger
Hi! I'm a mid 20s detransitioner who has spent a lot of time in leftist spaces over the last 10 years and has found themselves pretty disillusioned with these so called progressive communities. I transitioned aged 12 and detransitioned at 21, ultimately re-identifying as a woman. Because of my experience, I'm against children medically transitioning.
I don't align myself very strongly to any political label other than feminist, but I believe gender is a social construct, one we should strive to dismantle rather than reinforce. I believe members of the female sex are uniquely oppressed by the male sex, and while transitioning can change how this is expressed it doesn't change its core truth. I also believe people who transition deserve respect and kindness the same as anyone else, I won't criticise them beyond what I see as antifeminist ideology and actions in individuals. I hold people who haven't transitioned to the same standard. I won't deliberately misgender anyone.
I am strongly anti sex industry while strongly pro sex worker rights, and see soliciting sex workers as a form of rape. I believe the solution is holistic systematic change to provide women with housing, mental health support, welfare, education and career opportunities. Along with criminal punishment for those who purchase or profit off workers.
I strive to do my very best at being anti racist (am Indigenous Australian and white passing myself), class conscious, pro disability rights, and to consider feminism intersectionally and on the global scale. I have really long winded thoughts on neurodiversity as someone diagnosed with level 1 autism as an adult (I was tragically very invested in pathologising and labling every aspect of my experience for many years) but struggling to differentiate if my symptoms are actually trauma. Other than this I love cycling, lit fic, and the tv show Daria :)
