Look, for our comprehensive exam for the MA in English Lit, we were given a list of 200 works which then we worked as a group to narrow down to about 50 and were expected to read and be able to answer questions about by the end of the term. I’m fairly certain Ulysses was on that list. So I would have read it, looked at it? Something. It wasn’t on the exam. So I suspect it wasn’t a favorite of any of the reviewing professors.
