This was my most anticipated show of the year!!

And it was so worth it!! We didn't even get home before we booked to see it again before it closes

I'm begging for a proshoot, this was actually incredible. Everything from characters and the actors and costumes, to the staging lights and use of the space, the songs lyric changes and song order. I have watched the 2015 stage version time 100+ times easily and the 2023 version, and honestly I was a little worried when I saw some of the song order changes and who sung them, but it worked so well and some of them I enjoyed more. Where Is The Justice is arguably the most well-known song and it has gone through a few changes, but this version is definitely my favourite!! The iconic lines are back to being Light's, the speed change and the choreography worked so well together!! I absolutely love what was done with this song.

And Gelus!! I was a little unsure how they would fit in but it was seamless. Every scene they were in, my eye was always drawn to them in the best way!!

I want to use this more so let's do a little catch up of all the stuff I used to post.

Hi I'm Kyle, I've had the account for a LONG time, I was here when Booklr was huge and it's where I started my book blogging at 17(ish), I'm now 30, and this is what I look like.

I'm trans and I've documented my transition from the very start. I've been out 12 years and I'm nearly 8 years on T

I had a 2 year reading slump, I still read, hit my reading goals, but it was a struggle. I got through it though!!

I painted my white bookcase blue, my books are still in rainbow order (this bookcase anyways)

During my reading slumps, I painted my room and hand painted 77 out of the 88 constellations onto my ceiling (not to scale) but as a sky map so they are where they are in the sky and I've made the brightest star in each constellation bigger

I still love the theatre and I aim to see 1 show a month!!

I also cosplay mainly from musicals!!

I post mainly on insta (that_bookworm_guy) and I still take pretty photos!!

This year I became a mobility aid user, turns out all the years of complaining about joint pain caught up with me. A doctor finally listened after 13 years and it's being investigated. Also this was my look for seeing Ride the Cyclone in London!!

Still a huge Starkid fan and FINALLY after 15 years, saw a full length musical live, and in London!!

I had a HP sleeve that I posted updates to over the years, this year I finally got it covered up, the whole sleeve is gone. Elements have stayed but now it's not a HP sleeve. The bottom half is an astronaut, and my upper arm is general horror themed as we had to work with what we had but I'm so happy with it!!

Still crafting!! I haven't drawn much though, but I dip in and out of drawing

A bit of Grace for today

YESTERDAY!! I entered my first ever cosplay competition at my first ever Musical Con

Absolutely incredible, the fact I look confident as if I wasn't Absolutely shitting myself backstage, is kinda surprising. I panicked on stage but I winged the hell out of it and it doesn't look like it, somehow!!

This was my first ever cosplay competition and my first time ever being on stage, especially at a convention!!

When I say I winged it, I absolutely winged the hell out of this. Ran on pure anxiety and panicking to make sure I didn't look too awkward. Thoughts absolutely flooding my head as I was on that stage.

Standing backstage waiting for the judges to call us back on for the results was so wild, absolutely out of body experience. The crowds screaming when my cosplay was mentioned when being asked what their favourite cosplay was absolutely mind blowing. Then the Little Shop of Horror singalong.

An absolute huge shoutout to everyone involved, the crew backstage were incredible, the judges were so kind before, during, and after the contest. Shanay just somehow putting you at ease on stage like it's only the two of us!! My fellow finalists, you were all incredible, absolutely amazing. Us chilling backstage just chatting, it was such a great experience meeting you all!!

To anyone thinking about entering a cosplay competition, do it, this was my first time and I was so incredibly anxious, it was terrifying, but such an unforgettable experience, everyone is there for the same thing and everyone is so helpful and kind 💙

1977 Silver Reed Seiko Silverette

For context: I got my first typewriter at the start of June, and in just over 2 months, I currently have 5. I got my second one as a fixerupper so I could be more confident fixing my first one if anything went wrong with it. I fixed that quickly. I then got a 3rd by chance when I saw it in an antiques centre. It was broken and I fixed that one.

After fixing the first 3 (even my first one needed a part replaced) I set out to find one that was unmistakably damaged. So I bought it off ebay because it was in such a state and when I got it and unwrapped it, I realised it was fucked. Exactly what I wanted!!

There weren't many things that were actually working with it for starters. It was completely unusable. So over the course of a month, I slowly worked towards repairing it. Somehow, I got it fully working, there is now not a single thing wrong with it. I know the ribbon on it is the wrong one, I switched it with another one just so I could test it, but it worked.

First painting in years, and it's Sir Hop-A-Lot

I haven't touch watercolours in years due to depression. I just couldn't bring myself to paint, every time I tried, I would just cry and put everything away before I even put the paintbrush to the paper.

So when a friend mentioned a commission, I was hesitant. I haven't done a commission in at least 5 years. I can't remember the last watercolour painting I did even though it was always my first choice of paint.

I was so scared that I'd lost so much of my skill that I wouldn't be able to see myself in my art anymore and that was honestly terrifying.

But I didn't need to worry so much, yes, I have lost skills. I can personally see that in my painting, I don't know if others can. But that's okay, I can always regain the skills back. But for my first watercolour painting in literal years, I'm really proud of this.

Hopefully I hope that this is what I need to get me back to painting for fun!!
