I believe there is an inversely proportional trend between the film-accuracy or quality of a licensed Skullector doll design (even if gender-flipped) and the presence or visibility of the Skullette symbol in the Skullector doll's design. The more numerous or more visible the Skullettes are in the design, the more off-book and divisive or bad it often is, and the fewer or more hidden the Skullettes are, the more faithful, and often, good, the design is. The best have zero Skullettes at all. As such, the less the doll tries to remind you it's a Monster High design, the more faithful the adaptation. This does not apply to every single Skullector design, but it's a correlative pattern that Skullettes' visibility in the dolls often relates to a divisive or less accurate design. I wonder if in some cases, licensors mandate more accurate designs and request fewer MH visual tags as a result, or if the team just leaves out their own logo when approaching designs more faithfully.

Some examples....

Prominent/numerous Skullettes, looser/more controversial/off-tone designs:

Sally also counts for having a totally new outfit design beyond the patchwork pattern, and her dress has a big ol' Skullette on it. Non-Netflix Wednesday, M3GAN, Young-hee, and the magician's assistant are cases where the dolls are trying to be faithful but make those few distracting off-book touches like Wednesday's dress silhouette, M3GAN's sleeves, the assistant's totally wrong hairdo or Young-hee's plastic dress and skirt print, and all of them have easily visible Skullettes in their designs. Even mostly close dolls might be taken off course, and they happen to have Skullettes...

Here are cases of few to no Skullettes, and very close adaptations:

No money goes to AO3, nor to the fic writer. It goes to the person who did the bare minimum.

Many of these apps have poorly worded or non existent privacy policies, so they may also be mining as much data as possible and selling that on to unknown third parties.

Please, just use the official AO3 site and the browser.
