STARTER FOR: Open! @srphq-startersâ WHERE:Â Danse Macabre, outside somewhereÂ
With a considerable amount of alcohol in his system and his mood on the up and up, Deacon almost seemed like himself again as of lateâintoxicated for an occasion and having a good time rather than drinking and indulging in habits until he didnât have to msntally or emotionally face the last four years; heâd deal with it when he was readyâat least thatâs what he told himself. it was a change of pace that Deacon welcomed with open arms, and deep down hoped would stick around a while after the alcohol had worn off. but for now, he was going to enjoy himself and lean into whatever tradition his new home seemed so hyped about.Â
while he stepped outside, anyone and everyone he passed he spoke toâeither just a polite âhows it going?â as he passed or, 'got a lighter?â before he wandered around a corner and spotted a lit candle. granted, it was mounted high up on the wall, perched in a holder that looked old and fancy and went well with the decor of the eventâso of course, a drunk Deacon was going to scale that wall for the flame that danced atop the candle. by the time he reached it he was standing on his tip-toes on top of some decoration, stretching as far as he could with the cigarette dangling from his mouth in an attempt to reach the light, only to catch movement from the corner of his eye. he jumped a little before he turned his head, blinking at the person looking at him like heâd just beamed down from space; still hanging from the fixture on the wall.Â
âjesusâI thought you were that wailing woman or whatever people keep talking about..â
Staring up at Deacon hanging from the fixture, Hyunminâs own unlit cigarette dangled from his mouth limply. âItâs the weeping lady, but youâre close enough I guess,â he eventually replied, rolling his eyes and laughing. âI was going to ask if you had a light, but Iâm guessing the answer is no,â he commented, taking the smoke from between his lips and eyeing up the height between the wall and the flame that Deacon was using. He came to the conclusion that there was space enough for two people on top of whatever decoration it was that the other was balancing on, and it looked sturdy enough to hold both their weight. He could be wrong, but he too was intoxicated to really care that much. âComing up,â he warned, before scaling the wall, making his way up to Deaconâs side. Turns out, there was only just enough room for the both of them. Reaching out, Hyunmin got his cigarette to light, popping it back into his mouth again and taking a long drag. âWe should probably get back down before whatever the hell weâre standing on gives way,â he advised, looking down at his feet and grinning lazily, one hand on the fixture to maintain his balance but making no move to descend.
