The equivalent of DRTenna's closet pipis is their first egg. Since they're not an actual couple, Spamton (refusing to be vulnerable enough to admit his feelings and not allowing Tenna to speak his) doesn't tell him at first and wants to think it through. And when Tenna disappears while Spamton is pregnant, he's left distraught as hell, thinking if maybe Tenna knew and ran because of that, going up to the usual "kill your TV" -level anger until he lays the egg. Once he holds it, he's finally become vulnerable enough for grief –that Tenna's not here, that he doesn't know WHY, that this egg might be the last memory of Tenna he can have. (Their eldest is the color of Tenna's frame for that –if Tenna never came back she'd be a painful memory, but also not a full TV he could remember him by. I digress.)

Swap's the only one where the egg is had during separation bc that adds on the Pain Scale for me. DR and DN both have it before that (but in DN's case Tenna only finds out about it after the separation). UT have theirs after all their horrors. Assuming they don't get attacked by us.

So that egg is everything to him and doesn't stay in a closet but in a safer place. His room, maybe? A proper nest, definitely. The Gang (with Tenna) do eventually find it, cue their reunion scene where Tenna realizes that A) Spamton has an egg, B) It's wrapped in a nest of Tenna's old clothes, which Spamton has kept, and the only option is that C) It has to be his baby. Spamton pedals fully into denial because he acts before he can think to defend it.

Once they're, y'know, cool with saying "I love you" for the first time, actually kissing and showing that love, and get comfortable enough to hope for another, they have a second egg. Both of their traumas over what happened with the last one make them need the other nearby 24/7 to make sure they don't disappear, but they're also overjoyed they get to actually BE together this time and experience it now. Since Tenna's data is missing chunks (via that decapitation, he's missing the whole neck) their second glitches up more, which is why they stop at 2. (DR have a similar reason for stopping at 3.)
