she would have been 34 years old today. Her life mattered and matters.

On July 10 2015, Sandra was arrested during a traffic stop by State Trooper Brian Encinia. She was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer. She was found hung in her jail cell three days later on july 13. Somehow, it was ruled a suicide, although it’s clear Brian didn’t want her to speak on his abuse of power. Later, Brian Encinia was founded to be in the wrong by his own station. There’s videos from sandra’s perspective, a bystander, and Brian’s body camera. Even the Waller County jail was found to be in the wrong. Yet, no one has been found guilty in her death. Brian was not charged for his wrong doings even though they’re proof he did wrong and abused his power. He physically pulled Sandra out of her car, pushed and forced her into the ground. Another officer saw this and didn’t hold his other officer accountable. Sandra was an activist for the civil rights movement and of the black lives matter movement. she deserves justice. say her name, Sandra Bland.
