On a parallel Earth...Poodles are the target of controversial legislation in the United States that imposes restrictions on who can own them and where they can go. Proponents say that poodles, with their matted hair, uncanny strength and stamina, strong jaws, and origins as hunting dogs, are naturally more aggressive than other breeds. Opponents, however, say there is no science behind that assertion. On a parallel Earth...The gladius, ancientweapon of the Roman foot soldier, still adorns the grave stones of modern day military men and women. For over two thousand years, the imperial republic has persisted because of its unique form of government. But it thrives, and expands, because of the Roman Dream: the promise of upward mobility. Here we see an excellent example of a protective witch tree. With so many dead from the RevolutionaryWar, lich infestation was more common in late 18th century Massachusetts. The family of Jeffrey Richardson (ropemaker and community leader) had a local witch plant a beech tree with Green Magic wards over his mausoleum so that any lich attempting to establish a lair would not be able to leech power from the cemetery, but instead be trapped and slowly consumed. Note that though the tree has grown large and strong over the centuries, its outer most branches are pestilent. Soon the wards on it must be renewed. Consider donating towards the maintenance of your local cemetery or church yard. You never know what dark abominations they are protecting you from. On a parallel Earth where gold is plentiful, the metal is mostly used for decor as seen here embedded into a driveway. Without scarcity, it becomes apparent that there are far better materials for everything gold does. Gold’s one true utility is its shine.

Troll club: the size indicates this was made by a lesser troll using a ginko tree sapling removed from a sidewalk tree pit. Note that the branches were snapped off in a uniform pattern, making sure they have sharp ends. This piece was found in Brooklyn, New York, after an ice storm in the Spring of 2018. Trolls often walk between dimensions during cold, wet weather. The conditions are better then for their silicon based bodies.

Parallel Earth 001898 - Brooklyn adjusted quickly to aswangs; note the anti-aswang features around this murder door. The invasive species was unwittingly introduced to the borough by a real estate developer who had illegally imported a breeding pair. They were caged in the atrium of a new condo in Williamsburg to entice wealthy Filipino buyers. The pair, of course, could not be contained. Today, an estimated 8,000 call Brooklyn home, making architecture like this more common. Ironically, older buildings in less gentrified neighborhoods still had the bars, spikes, and multiple locks that protected them in the city’s more violent past. So making them aswang-proof was easy. It’s the new luxury developments, with open floor plans and massive unobstructed windows, that are prime targets for roosting and hunting.

Parallel Earth 005001 has no signs of life more complex than this single species of algae, found growing in a puddle of sulfur. But not only is the atmosphere suitable for humans, the air and soil contain microscopic amounts of artificial substances such as plastic. What happened here?
