persephone knows that she was meant for more than this. she was once at the right hand side of the king of the underworld and now she’s stuck as a human. that wasn’t the problem at hand, though, as she knows why they lost the war and has since accepted it. what she was ticked off about was her current role on earth. one of those idiots that founded MIASMA somehow cornered her into a job of a freaking flower shop. of course, she was the goddess of spring, so she was obligated to take it, but there really wasn’t anything else? while her friends were either operating the incredibly successful company or taking charge behind the scenes in planning revenge, she was selling bouquets and making corsages.

the angel tides flower shop has enjoyed moderate success under persephone’s leadership. she only has about two employees, one of which is an extremely handsome adonis mckinely, who is a whole other subject of tension and of course, irony. the other employee is an old lady named mrs. aldridge who only works tuesdays.

hades: up to players. because of prior history told in greek mythology, this relationship can be discussed between players aphrodite: rivals. ever since the incident with the original adonis, the two have never gotten along and they tend to argue and contest over almost every possible thing.  adonis mckinley: employee and boss. honestly, persephone couldn’t believe her eyes when she first met adonis. he was incredibly handsome and his name. what kind of cruel irony was that? of course she had to hire him and has noticed his not so subtle attraction towards her, but has not done anything to repel it.

it was at tender age of ten when adaline cardiner realized that she loved preforming. the rest of her family was very sports oriented, with her basketball coach of a father and her former gymnast of a mother. even her younger brother was on a little league basketball team. it was unheard of it in the family to have a knack for the arts, so when adaline announced that she got the lead role of little red riding hood in her school play, it was something to be taken aback at. from then on, it was a constant. she often asked to participate in theatre camp and took acting classes, eventually applying to a preforming arts school in new york city, away from the cardiner’s small town in maine.

adaline came from an middle class family, born in a small town in quite literally the middle of nowhere. she was the oldest of two children in a seemingly normal family, with her younger brother only two years younger than her. her mother worked as a social worker and her father, formerly a top college-level prospect that seemed to be on his way to the big leagues of basketball until a career ending injury, was a high school chemistry teacher. there was nothing out of the ordinary.

growing up, adaline had a normal and loving childhood. however, due to her enrollment in such a competitive school and harsh environment, she developed self-esteem issues. she never thought that she was good enough compared to everyone else and had a bit of an try hard attitude. this didn’t help with the fact that she wasn’t the most popular person in school and was in fact, teased often about little things like appearance and talent. though this mostly went away over time, the little girl who didn’t like what she saw in the mirror can still be seen at adaline’s lowest moments in present day.

there was a casting call for preteens for a big fantasy movie franchise that was expected to span out until the actors were in early adulthood. it was a risk to take, but due to her acting teacher’s persistence, adaline decided to audition for the secondary female role. it was nerve racking and she thought her world was over when she got the call saying she didn’t make it. but then, the impossible happened. they didn’t give her a role because they wanted to offer her the lead, which was being rewritten specifically for her.

the movie series was a hit and literally overnight, adaline became a star. she left her school and started getting tutored on set to accommodate her job. this would be her life for the next five to six years, where she filmed movies back to back and travelled all over to promote, as well as take on other acting jobs. she was recognized everywhere she went and hollywood dubbed her the ‘next big thing’. 

when the franchise concluded, adaline took on a few more acting jobs with mostly contemporary movies that attained moderate success. eventually, she wanted a challenge. she was sick of being stuck in the same role on a loop and her window of opportunity arose when she was offered a job in an action movie. when was the last time she took a risk? what, thirteen? she needed a breath of fresh air, so she accepted the offer. she didn’t quite foresee the accident happening.

the doctors said that adaline was lucky that she was alive. according to the director, it was supposed to be a simple stunt, but because of a technical issue, it went awry and she suffered because of it. adaline was stuck in the hospital for weeks and when she finally got discharged, the media was waiting for her. bombarded with attention, she hadn’t even coped with the fact that she had nearly died. wherever she went, adaline couldn’t escape the media and she just wanted to be alone. that was why she announced her hiatus from the acting world and escaped to what seemed like paradise: angel tides.

dubbed “hollywood’s princess,” adaline has been a known star since she was thirteen years old. she has the whole sweetheart image going on and by the time she had entered her twenties, she was considered a top tier actress. her most notable works are a six movie long fantasy franchise, an oscar winning period film, and a teen favourite romantic comedy.

roman apollo: unlabelled fling. when adaline first met apollo, she was genuinely shocked that he didn’t know who she was. this was what first drew her to him, the mysterious vibe that he showed. soon enough, the two started a no string attached relationship, although they haven’t labelled it as such out loud. she doesn’t know of his true identity. quetzalcoatl: friends. adaline frequents quetzalcoatl’s yoga sessions at the resort and due to her near daily visits, the two have grown close. hera: mother-like figure hera first heard of adaline’s situation from hermes, who is apparently really into adaline’s movies, and immediately knew that she wanted to help the girl out. so, she’s gone out of her way to make her feel comfortable while she’s staying in angel tides, always checking up on her and chatting.
