it was more than your exhausted soul and my innocent heart

the years that built their walls between us

walls that we managed to tear down

over meaningful conversations

whiskey for me, rye for you

walls that crumbled while we held hands

late night cab rides

i probably cared more than i should have

especially now that you're with her

i keep wondering what she's like

and if we could have worked out

if only i was older
