Rolling Thunder

Been watching a lot of space movies recently, as yall could tell from what I’ve been revlogging lol. It just led to this rabbit hole of space as a concept and impact of distance, personal or otherwise. Writing about it doesn’t seem to be enough so I decided to turn to web weaving for this.

Nigel and Hoagie popped into my mind as the perfect subjects for this too! Especially how so much is there in the small details that we know and don’t know. They were best friends. Hoagie builds, fixes and drives while Nigel tells him what to make and where to go. Hoagie lost his dad and will eventually not see his best friend for years to come. I think in my heart of hearts, he is probably the first person who realised the possibility of not being able to see him back at all—whether it be with their memories intact or if there was ever an estimated arrival at all. He’s been there before after all. Perhaps, was the light years between them the only distance between them?
