He HAS a mom. Her name is Talia al Ghul..and he does not want a DIFFERENT mom, even if Dick is sexy in mommy roleplay and as a pack omega. I ship batcest of most types and don't care in general if people mischaracterize a bit to make a scenario work..but I draw the line at denying Talia's relation to Damian, biologically and narratively.
Also I don't know if you'd agree with this take but I hate when people say Talia got Bruce pregnant. They only say that cause she's a strong woman and it's "funny", but actually it gets so tiring considering Talia's pregnancy was actually an important thing in the comics (Talia faked a miscarriage (+ annulled their marriage) to prevent Bruce from trying to get himself killed while protecting her and the baby)
Sorry this is just me yapping. Anyways I have a fantasy where Damian breastfeeds from Talia even when he's older ✌️
Yeah!! I love some DickDami mommy/daddy kink, but Dick's not Damian's biological parent and writing him as that even if it's solely for the purpose of making your incest even more incestuous is... like that's not Damian anymore. To me, it stops being fun and sexy when you start thoughtlessly erasing parts of the character that are vital to who they are. If anyone but Talia is his mother, Damian is no longer Arab/Chinese. If anyone but Talia is his mother, he wasn't raised in the League, and he wouldn't have anything near the same personality. Congrats, I guess? you recreated my most beloathed Ian Wayne.
In the same vein, I'd say this for any of the Robins being made into a bio child of Bruce, it just... always rubs me the wrong way. And it's something that happens on both the pro and anti sides of DC. For a fandom that loves to talk about adopted families, found families, etc, there sure are an awful lot of Clark and Bruce are Dick's bio parents. Bruce is Jason or Tim's bio dad. (Steph and Cass seem to mostly escape this curse, by very nature of being forgotten/left out as much as they are. But I have heard tell of a Super/Bat lovechild Cass fic. So.) But be so fr. Those kids loved their birth parents. It's their driving force and/or they're so intrinsically tied to them, that to adjust parentage would make them no longer that character.
Big fan of "rather than thoughtlessly assigning a canon name to that OC, let's get creative and think up a different name for them." I don't care if you're doing it for kink or doing it for fluff. It's so???
As for the Talia got Bruce pregnant joke... it's also something I find in poor taste for the exact reasons you said. Even when it comes to omegaverse. Idk. That one's... Sure. Whatever. I don't like it in the same way I don't like jokes that take every single het ship regardless of dynamics and make it into a "she pegs that man" or "she deserves better than that man" thing. Sometimes it's true, sometimes it works, and if that's what you wanna do, go ahead. It's just not something I enjoy.
