lmao @ first comment, as if it wouldn’t go like: every bar owner around, all of whom are also serving tainted alcohol, works together with each other to ensure that the deaths are not widely publicized and they aren’t pressured to change their product. The particular bar owner, who has a relationship with the private police anyway (to ensure the protection of his private property), proposes a plan of mutual benefit whereby they don’t arrest him and instead arrest any protesters who might come to the bar, thus meeting their arrest/productivity quota. The editor of the local paper, who has been friends with the bar owner ever since they were both on the board of their local Chamber of Commerce, makes sure that a staff editorial runs the next day denouncing all talk of regulation as socialist poison.
