i’m sorry but nothing. NOTHING. will ever top sam’s death in season 2. the way sam’s last word was “dean.” the way dean holds him. the way dean talks to him. the way sam tries to stay awake. the grainy s2 film. the rain. the score. THE SCORE. dean’s speech. the raw grief. the first out literally 2 times that sam calls dean “de” when he hugs him. the way i rewatch it every week since i was 11. the way this was peak sam and dean before the codependency but more of the “you are the only person i’m still alive for and now you’re gone.” the way sam says “you’re my big brother” in the softest and nose endearing way. the way i’m doing bonkers thinking about it again.
