Hello to the five Exorcist fans on Tumblr! You've found my Exorcist OC's blog. Here's her lore. This is a very rudimentary draft that will get edited over time. Please feel free to interact with her.
Galilea Dennings is the thirteen year old daughter of Burke Dennings (the director character, for reference, ik he was kind of minor) and close friend of Regan MacNeil. Galilea is absolutely obsessed with all things spiritual, so when Regan shows her the Ouija board and introduces her to "Captain Howdy", she's initially excited to have a link to the other side... Especially when Burke mysteriously falls to his death. Additionally, she spends quite a lot of time exploring the church close to the MacNeil house, and enjoys pestering the priests there with spiritual questions.
As Captain Howdy begins to possess Regan, he reveals himself to be the demon Pazuzu. All the while, Galilea keeps a constant vigil beside Regan's bed. One night, in her grief, Galilea asks Pazuzu to let her speak to Burke. The demon reveals things to her that must be true... Right? Galilea Dennings is a murderer who drove her father to meet his death, because that's what Pazuzu told her, and he must know, since he knew what sort of a father Burke was. And every once in a rare while, the demon is... kind.
During Regan's exorcism, Galilea begs Damien to let her help. After sleepless nights, all she wants is her friend back. Damien, of course, says no.
When Damien dies (because I refuse to acknowledge Legion, you cannot make me.) Chris MacNeil decides it's time to move out of Washington, but she refuses to take Galilea with her. After all, she introduced Regan to all things spiritual, so it must be her fault, right?
Here's where things split off.
In her original story, Joseph Dyer takes Gailiela in. But in a crossover AU I'm writing with @lynnfynn, it's Damien Karras and his partner (and Lynn's awesome character) Markos Vatistas that adopt her. This is the story that the blog follows.
Things go well either way, until an old, familiar voice begins to tug at Galilea's mind. It's Pazuzu, and now he's telling her she's ungrateful, and those that look after her are doomed to meet the same fate as Burke. But Pazuzu says he can protect her. He turns her fear to hatred towards Chris for abandoning her, and towards the people who try to give her a new life, because they must hate her too for her intrusion into their lives. They only took her in because their god said they must, not because they cared.
Damien and Markos watch Galilea fall into the clutches of the demon long before they realize what is happening. Her exorcism is long and somewhat bloody. But when Pazuzu finally leaves for good, her worldview finally shifts.
Okay this is crap but it will get polished eventually. There's a lot I didn't even touch on, but I don't think there's room in her lil synopsis up there.
Also: check the comment of most, if not all of Gilly's original posts. That's where half the angst and shenanigans are. Also, OOC asks for lore clarification are welcome and will be answered and then condensed into this post.
Random fun trivia about her
She loves the sun and anything celestial
Her favorite shape is spirals and her favorite color is yellow
She loves chamomile or orange tea
Her favorite flowers are daisies
Her favorite animal is a snail.
She loves the old Moomin cartoons from the 50s and 60s.
Her favorite musician is Neil Diamond (thanks to Dyer)
She's an eclectic wiccan with an interest in folk Catholicism
She has 2 altars. One to Pazuzu (it used to be one for Mother Mary) and one as a shrine to Burke.
Because of how much time she spent around Pazuzu, she hates being in warm temperatures. She prefers to be overly cold with a sweater on.
She's not a fan of loud, sudden noises. Including thunder and fireworks.
She finds the sound of the wind very comforting because of Pazuzu
She hates being referred to by her full name, Galilea, because the reason behind it was that Burke wanted to name her something eccentric to match his pretentiosity.
