This artwork of a vampire I created is inspired by one of my favorite late musicians and artists, David Bowie. I wasn't just inspired by him alone for this vampire character, but also a reference photo I had saved on my phone of him. I wasn't sure what to name this artwork, but I went back to listening to Bowie's music again recently and listened to one of his songs called "Sweet Thing" from his 1974 album Diamond Dogs. I thought the lyrics for that song would be close enough to somehow represent this artwork. By the way, I've decided to name this vampire Star as a reference to a lot of Bowie's music that refer to stars and the galaxies.

I drew four characters the actor Jeffrey Combs played back in films from the 1980s: Stu (Frightmare - 1983), Herbert West (Re-Animator - 1985), Crawford Tillinghast (From Beyond - 1986), and Jonathan (The Evil Clergyman - 1988). If you don't know, I've been watching some movies with Jeffrey Combs lately and he's become one of my favorite actors.

I was really on the board to making this artwork, and the most excited to create. I watched the horror film Re-Animator a while back recently, and I love it. So I wanted to make an artwork based off one of the most iconic scenes in the film with Herbert West and Dr. Carl Hill. If you are wondering, I also did watch Bride of Re-Animator and Beyond Re-Animator.
