something i love about writing for smaller fandoms (after huge fandoms granting instant gratification and absolutely blasting my dopamine levels) is that it really allows me to fall back in love with writing for the writing’s sake. i get to fall in love with my voice, with these characters and their journey, with my idea and my realisations — because it might just happen that no one else will. and of course that’s harsh and of course that upsets our little neurotransmitters that go unanswered and of course it’s a letdown sometimes because we post to be seen, we post to be read, we post for community. of course.

but there’s something so genuine about it. something calm and quiet and real, not at all overshadowed by hundreds of likes and comments (i will never complain about likes and comments though let’s be so fr)

when you write in a tiny corner of the internet it feels like sitting down in a beanbag in some cosy corner as a child and living in your own world for a while again. it’s a rediscovery of sorts. and for the first time in a long, long time i’m invested again

Humans and vampires coexist peacefully. Technology has advanced. Cheaper, better-tasting synthetic blood is now available. "Where am I? Is this still before Christ?"

Harvey is a young vampire who was turned less than two hundred years ago. One of his jobs is to help maintain the assets of vampires who have been sleeping all this time.
