what r some of ur personal harvey headcanons
I have an aaaaalarming number of headcanons for this man. He’s occupying an irresponsible amount of space in my brain at this point. Either he starts paying rent, or I start billing him by the hour. I think that’s only fair.
𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝑵𝒐𝒕𝒆 A good chunk of these are just me projecting in a trench coat, so take everything with a grain of salt. I like sprinkling little pieces of myself into characters I either relate to or am hopelessly fascinated by, while still trying to keep them as true to canon as I reasonably can !
⟢ I have a hunch Harvey has undiagnosed ADHD. Not in the “can’t sit still” way, but in the way his brain runs ten conversations ahead of everyone else’s, survives entirely on deadlines, and accidentally forgets to drink water until Donna physically places a glass in front of him.
⟢ He knows exactly how every person in the room takes their coffee without ever consciously trying to remember it. It’s filed away somewhere between case law and baseball statistics.
⟢ He’ll buy expensive gifts with zero hesitation, but if you hand him something small and sentimental, he’ll spend the next week quietly staring at it whenever nobody’s looking.
⟢ He falls asleep almost exclusively to background noise. Sports reruns, financial news, old jazz records playing just loud enough to remind him he’s not alone in the apartment.
⟢ He’s strangely good with kids because he talks to them like they’re actual people. No baby voice, no talking down to them. They either adore him immediately or spend the next hour trying to beat him at cards.
⟢ He has a habit of fixing other people’s ties, collars, watches, and cuffs—tiny, absent-minded adjustments while carrying on a conversation—without realising how intimate it looks.
⟢ Instinctively positions himself between the people he cares about and anything he perceives as a threat—a crowded pavement, an angry client, a drunk stranger. He doesn’t think about it; he just moves.
⟢ His apartment is immaculate, but there’s always one chair with clothes draped over it. Even Harvey Specter has the chair.
