As explained by the Palestinian Human Rights Organizations Council (PHROC), the EuroAsia Interconnector, if implemented as planned, will contribute to the maintenance and expansion of Israel’s illegal settlement enterprise in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem. HP Israel, has supplied the Basel system to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, and has taken over its development, installation, and maintenance on the ground. The Basel access and control system is a system of biometric sensors. This system is installed in the Israeli military checkpoints, which are on the border with the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank. IBM - IBM has been responsible for training military and intelligence personnel, as well as managing the central database of Israel’s Population, Immigration and Borders Authority (PIBA) that stores the biometric data of Palestinians. Santander now sponsors the Spanish Grand Prix) Santander financed Boeing and General Dynamics, which exported the GBU-type guided bombs used in the Jabalia massacres.
