q: hi lando, p4. what's the overriding feeling, emotion after that session today? lando: uh, pretty good, very happy. i don't think you can expect a lot more. i know the gap was 0.004 to p3, which is not a lot. i had the red flag on my first lap into the last corner and i think maybe this lap was even better than my second lap. the second lap is just my only chance to put a lap time on the board and then you just can't take quite the same risks in a few of the corners as i did on lap one. we were just unfortunate out there today. you asked me "can i go 0.004 quicker?" yes but ask kimi and he'll say i can probably go 0.02 quicker, 0.03 quicker so you know we have to be happy with today and i did some good laps. q: where do you think your fight will be tomorrow, the kind of race car that you've got underneath you? lando: i mean, i would love to fight the guys ahead but the gap to them was big today. if it was like a 0.1 gap to pole, i would say, yeah, we can have a good fight, 3.5 tenths. it just means they have more grip. it means they have a better balanced car and that's going to be hard to beat on a day like tomorrow where everything's about tyre degradation, keeping the car smooth and gentle, keeping the tyres cool. for us to keep up tomorrow, we're going to have to push like crazy, which means overheat the tyres and maybe do a five stop. so i think racing the guys ahead will be tough but if we have a chance, we'll go for it, especially with a long run down to turn one. otherwise, just trying to maximise points, maximise our opportunities but not be faltered by trying to overachieve.
