Strive to improve yourself in education, career, finances and in your walk with God. If you want a Godly man/woman, then you must become a Godly man/woman. Don’t waste your time on relationships that aren’t going anywhere.

Recognize that God is in control, even when it seems He has forgotten you. I love the words to the Old Testament prophet Habakkuk:Look around at the nations; look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it” (Habakkuk 1:5, NLT).Often when it seems nothing is happening is when everything is happening behind the scenes. You just can’t see it.

US MARINE IN CUSTODY IN MURDER OF JENNIFER LAUDE

A United States Marine is being held in custody after Jeffrey “Jennifer” Laude, a 26 year old Filipina Transgender, was found brutally murdered in an Olongapo City hotel on Saturday. The suspect has been identified as Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton and is being held by the United States Navy aboard a ship in the Philippines. Details are mixed, but according to some reports, Laude and a friend met Pemberton at a local disco bar and later went to a hotel where Laude became nervous and asked to leave before it was discovered that she was Transgender. What happened next is still a mystery but later that night, she was found savagely beaten, bruised, strangled, and drowned in a toilet. Angry protestors have taken to the streets demanding the United States military leave and transfer Pemberton into Filippino custody. The Philippine Government is reassuring the family and the country that everything will be done to achieve justice. Many protestors say this has brought back harsh memories of the 2005 raping of Suzette Nicolas, a Filipina Transgender who was abused in a moving vehicle by an American Marine while 3 others watched and cheered. Lance Corporal Daniel Smith was found guilty of the rape and sentenced to 40 years imprisonment, Lance Corporals Keith Silkwood and Dominic Duplantis and Staff Sergeant Chad Carpentier were all acquitted. In 2009 the conviction was overturned and Smith was released and allowed to leave the country. Corky Hope Maranan, who leads a Transgender and Lesbian group locally, said “If he remains in U.S. custody, certainly he can escape from our justice system again. We don’t want another Daniel Smith.”

My heart goes out to Jennifer, her friends and family, the Transgender community of the Philippines, and all of those affected by this disgusting act of violence. The struggles that the Transgender community faces are often overlooked and forgotten, especially and most shamefully by the rest of the LGBT community, but we will all come together today to mourn one of our own, and demand justice.

Do you know how important you are to God? He cares so much about every detail of your life. He cares about your thoughts, feelings and emotions. In fact, what you are going through is so important to Him that He records every sorrow and collects the tears you’ve shed.

Why would God record your sorrows and collect your tears? Because everything that affects you matters to Him. He is your Vindicator. He’s keeping an account of every wrong that’s ever been done to you so that He can make up for every single one of them. He wants to restore to you everything that has ever been stolen. He wants to heal every hurt and pain.
