Season 3 didn't "retcon" Collector's personality as I see a lot of people saying. It's really obvious he's still the same as he was in season 2
If they were more "malicious" in season 2 it was because they were with Belos and they were being influenced by him/imitating him like how kids do
Once he was freed from that environment is when we see his real personality and he wasn't completely an "uwu cute little baby" as a lot of people believe, he was still antagonistic and didn't care about the well-being of others
Season 3 also didn't "retcon" his knowledge of death. He knows death exists but doesn't understand its impact on mortals and thinks he can fix it.
"He was excited about seeing everyone dying during the day of Unity!" yeah, because he thought it was a game and didn't care if people died because he thinks he can fix it. When Eda reproached them about creating the draining spell in WaD they literally answered with:
"So? Toys break all the time, you just fix them"
I really can't see where are the retcons people are talking about, I thought it was obvious what his personality and his view of death were from the very beginning

Sometimes the fandom has a misoginy problem, liking Belos is okay but when i say i like Odalia and she's my second favorite Blight then i'm suddenly a bad person that ignores her actions??? I have a moot who loves her and has an ocxcanon and they get told things like "Out of all characters??" like huuuuuh, how is it not okay to like characters like Odalia, Boscha, Terra or Kikimora but when you like evil characters like Belos then omggg he's such an evil hot maaann and Alador (WHO WAS ALSO A BAD DAD AT SOME POINT) is just a manipulated wittle baby 40 yeaw owld cinammon wrolll aawwww.. Stop it 😿😿😿 (No hate to anyone who likes these characters, it's more about the reaction of others i'm not saying you can't like Belos and dislike Odalia or anything like that i hope this isn't misinterpreted)

Luz should’ve been way madder at Vee. I understand that the show had to be moved along quickly and deal with the “bad” emotions quicker but seriously? I get that Vee was just trying to survive but Luz was basically replaced by Vee, had her assume her identity and change her relationships, got rid of her stuff and changed her “identity” to what wasn’t her only to then have her as a sister off screen? What? How do you just deal with the fact that you have a sister without a proper talk?
I love these characters but it’s weird

Another lukewarm take: the collector (even though he is god-like and ages differently, if at all, from the others) should’ve had a better parental figure. I’m not counting Odalia or Belos because the abuse only rendered more abuse. The collectors siblings didn’t care for him and both Odalia and Belos took advantage of that by trying to use him while putting on the parental role (poorly). Hunter is talked about needing a parental figure/family, but I think the collector needs one too. What he did didn’t come from a place of evil, only hurt and abandonment, which is what his original family should’ve been there for. The found family trope in TOH affects a lot of the main cast but I’ve never really seen it discussed for the collector. They do get close with Luz and King, they could be like siblings to him, but I do think someone such as Eda should take care of him and help him control urges/his powers/actions like how a mom would do.
-
I hate how the fandom sees Alador as this character that didn’t know about his wife’s abuse and as a floozy. I don’t like Alador because not only did he participate in his wife’s abuse, but he neglected his children as well. His redemption was utter nonsense, because it doesn’t make sense. He was an absent father and clearly played favorites like Odalia did. He molded his children to only be work tools and when they weren’t useful, ignored them. His abuse, while not as demeaning as Odalia’s, is still abuse. He needs to have a serious evaluation about himself before even getting close with his children, they don’t really know him either. He also had so many chances to stop her too and didn’t.
-
Hate how the fandom sees Amity as this “angy blushy lesbian” or whatever. It’s cute the first few times but when people characterize Amity as being obsessed with Luz and blushing at everything, it gets old quick. They didn’t get along at first and Luz had a hard time just being friends with her before Lumity was made canon. I like that Amity was confused about her feelings at first for Luz and was trying to take things slow cause she really didn’t know how she was going to be as a partner, but as soon as she started with the “as Luz’s awesome girlfriend” stuff it got really cringey and kinda made her character less..stoic than she used to be. Having a girlfriend changed both Luz and Amity’s character, except I’m not sure if Amity’s was for the better. I like Lumity, I ship it. It’s cute, but when people think of Amity as just “Luz’s gf” and categorize her by that it inwardly makes me cringe. This isn’t hate toward the ship, just what the ship itself generates in Amity and Lumity fan content

My previous game character fell out of a tree, so I had the opportunity to get the albinism mutation. But my oc turned out to be a carrier of a hidden mutation. Her name is... Uh... Pika?
Freeline by catwar
my dear friend @marshmallow-icing-swirl is celebrating the 4 years of her design blog @strawberryfrostedkitties and I drew some of her designs to celebrate the occasion!
I almost wonder if there was a different plan for how a medicine cat was decided originally because of this dialogue.
This is from Into the Wild and I can see this going two ways:
Victoria Holmes either originally didn't think that Yellowfang had trained Runningnose or she had a different system in mind for how medicine cats were decided.
Or (and this is my favorite option honestly), Yellowfang knows Firepaw still doesn't know the ins and outs of how medicine cats work and is messing with him by acting like she had no idea Runningnose would be the medicine cat after her. Love this option because I love sassy and sarcastic Yellowfang lmao.
So! This is a perfect case study in situations where you should be wary of misinformation.
Take a moment and ask yourself, a project like this requires a lot of time, money and dedication of resources, why would scientists dedicate that time to something that could just be done by a tree?
The answer is they wouldn't. So that means this claim requires further investigation!
This project is called LIQUID 3, and it's not meant for cities with wide open spaces, it's meant for cities like Belgrade in Serbia. These cities are densely populated and heavily polluted, to the point where pollution actually chokes out current trees and makes creating green spaces difficult.
Liquid 3 was a PhD scientists answer to these problems. The microalgae tank is intended for spaces where you either:
Don't have enough space to plant full trees, or
Don't have enough time to plant trees and wait for them to grow up.
The tank is extremely efficient when you consider the amount of space needed compared to the amount of CO2 turned into oxygen. The tank can operate throughout the winter. And most importantly, it can be quickly set up in areas that desperately need relief from air pollution NOW not in 10 years when trees are done growing. Children currently suffocating on polluted air can't wait for trees to grow, they need to be taken care of now, and Liquid 3 is one of the ways to take care of them. Depending on the species of microalgea used, a number have shown a pretty amazing capacity to pull heavy metals out of the air which is something trees can get choked up by.
The tanks aren't just tanks either! Liquid 3 have solar panels placed on top, they have lighting and mobile phone charging, and they work as public benches. The designers of it want to encourage green spaces where there's room, but where there isn't room or time, Liquid 3 can step in. Realistically, this isn't a replacement for trees. It's replacing boring metal city benches with new, cooler benches that also clean the air (and have at least some heating during the winter).
Not only that, but the microalgea that grows is native to Serbia and all that microalgea has a ton of great uses! It makes for great fertilizer, compost, wastewater treatment, cleaner biofuels and even for helping create new tanks for further air purification. They only require a quick algae divide once a month, and the produced algae can be carted off to where ever it's needed. This makes them effective solutions for areas that can't sustain complex installations.
So yeah, there's actually quite a lot of places that would like these. Lots of people currently breathing in terrible quality air would much rather have their boring city benches replaced with really fucking cool algae tanks that clean the air and can be used to help create + sustain future green spaces in cities. I dunno about you, but I'd take that over a dumb metal bench any day. Put these at every bus stop and I'd be delighted.
can ppl pls reblog this version
Well damn. I was also like wtf is this stupid slime tank and then I read the rest and my mind got blown
Yeah quiet quitting is great and all but have you tried chaotic working?
Like. I remember back in my grocery store cashier days I did so much crazy shit.
When WIC (Women, infants, and children voucher program to help low income mothers/families with children) people were in my line I would pretty much know who they were. Before the cards they had to tell us upfront they were WIC and show us their vouchers for what they were allowed to get (it was awful some times. Like. 2 gallons of milk. $4 worth of vegetables etc etc). They’d always have items hanging back, waiting to see what the total was and if they would have to take it off the belt.
I began to place the fruits/vegetables a certain way on the register scale so that like 1/2lbs of grapes read as like .28lbs or something. Then act shocked when I said that they still had X amount of lbs left. They got all their fruit and vegetables.
I think it started to kinda? Catch on to the women? Because I would have the same moms in my line month after month. And even after they switched to the cards (they worked like food stamp cards?) I’d still do the same thing. They were able to get more produce for whatever shitty max amount Indiana gave them.
Anyways. Be chaotic. It’s more fun that way.

I can't believe home depot literally produced a wildly successful science fiction musical and we all just pretend it didn't happen. on one hand yes it had a boring white guy main character but like.... home depot just... Made it? And it had shit ton of box office sales? and no one even talks about this. this is like avatar (2009) all over again
OK so. After a lot of frantic googling I realized this was all a dream. home depot did not in fact produce a wildly successful science fiction musical. I was on allergy meds and took a nap and my brain simply prophesized this. slightly disappointed because I wanted to watch it.

why does my caladium act like she is starving for light. hang on
every day i ahve to reposition the damn lamp cuz she’s dead set on sticking her first leaf Right The Fuck In There and i don’t want her to burn. but every day i come home from work and she has closed the distance anyway. bestie PLEASE cooperate with me
i finally caved and moved her to the windowsill but this has clearly not satisfied her because she still presses that leaf RIGHT up against the glass
apparently instead of actually growing new leaves in order to increase her light intake she’s decided that these are PERFECT conditions to flower in
BABYGIRL YOU HAVE ONE LEAF PLEASE
