Not that I think all marriages are doomed but when deciding who to marry you should ask yourself “is this someone I’d want to divorce?” As in, is this someone I believe would be mature and fair, even when they’re upset and don’t particularly like me at the moment. Is this someone I could continue to trust while going through an adversarial process? And if the answer is no, don’t marry them.

I think one of the funniest abortion stances I've heard was from my parents neighbor. He's a like, hard-core libertarian viking larper guy who is very tall and very fat and very bald.

He believes a fetus is human with a soul, but also its "basically attacking the woman's body" so if she wants to get rid of it, that's "basically self-defense". He compared it to shooting a home invader. So he supports abortion not as healthcare, but as killing a baby in self-defense

#fwiw this is a legitimate argument #like my reasons for supporting abortion are somewhat different #but this is a reasonable argument that has been used by the pro choice movement #I think I’ve seen a law review article from this position

therefore: an unborn fetus is a person, but it is not a citizen.

follows that any unborn fetus in the United States is non-citizen with no documentation. unborn fetus should be regarded as an enemy combatant INVADING U.S. territory.

state abortion bans are basically equivalent to immigration sanctuary laws; pregnant people have not only the right, but the duty to terminate the pregnancy.

*Note: the Trump admin's challenge to birthright citizenship does not dispute the conventional plain meaning of the text that citizenship is related location of birth. It only attempts to limit the universe of babies born in the U.S. that receive citizenship, in no way does it try to deny the link between birth and becoming a citizen.
