Since Sony being terrible is on a lot of people's minds at the moment. I think it's important to remember that one of the worst launches is history, the launch of No Mans Sky, was in part Sonys fault. A lot of people forget that. Sony saw what Sean Murry was saying and how he was handling things and could have said something. But why would they since what he said made them more money.

It's important to remember that at the time Hello Games was just a 12 man team, and they fucked up...but the point of having a publisher like Sony is they are suppose to help you so you don't make huge mistakes like they did...and it doesn't look like Sony tried at all.

I could be wrong. Maybe they did try to help. Can't really know the inner workings of Sony from years ago. What I do know is this. Hello games has learned from their mistakes and has done everything possible to make things right by making No Mans Sky a genuinely fun game that has 0 micro transactions in it. And Sony...well that list is far to long to cover in this post.

After the ‘getting it running’ stuff that there are a billion tutorials for (4GB patch, NV tick fix, NV anti crash, etc), my personal recommendations would be Just Vanilla Sprint and LootMenu (changes inventory menus to be like FO4), just those two make the experience much smoother, while retaining the mostly vanilla feel you want on your first playthroughs

I've come out of hiding just to say. In a perfect world I would recommend New Vegas first to all the new fallout fans. But we also live in a world where without mods ( wich is how most people experience NV for the first time) it's kinda a bitch to play. Especially for a fist Bethesda game. Wich is why I'm begging people to stop saying not to bother with fo4.... it's by far the most accessible game gameplay wise....and though I agree it has one of the weaker stories. I wouldn't say it's bad at all. Just different from the other games.

I wish I could help with this but I ended up in the same boat. Gameplay is most often more important to me than story is. And when I played New Vegas I played it vanilla and ended up disliking most of it. I'm sure there are mods out there that fix many of these issues. But when a game needs mods just for it to be playable for me...I tend to not bother with it much. I ended up Watching playthoughs on YouTube to get the story.

All this being said if someone sees this and wants to recomend some mods please do so.
