Your eight week old puppy is not a service dog!! It can’t be!! And emotional support animal only have rights to housing, not public spaces.
at my old school a dude’s real service dog got attacked by an uneatured, untrained fake service dog someone was calling their emotional support animal and only then did the school actually train their staff on how to appropriately evaluate service animals. it’s SO fucking annoying
Not to disagree with you because yeah an 8 week old puppy is not really prepared to go out in public, but at least in certain states, like California, the law says that service dogs in training are given the same access rights as fully trained service dogs. So like, depending on the state, there might really not be anything people can do about it. And a person taking a puppy around for training might not be doing anything wrong, as long as the dog has been trained at least to the point of being safe and sanitary in public. But yeah there definitely are many many people out here lying about their dogs. It’s just also annoying from the other perspective trying to take a young dog around to train it and constantly getting harrassed for “faking” 😂
I totally understand, as someone currently training my own service dog, but this puppy was so young the girl could not have had it for more than a few days. I know it gets into dodgy territory when it comes to training rights, but I feel at the minimum, a dog needs to be potty trained before it is taken into public spaces, and it ABSOLUTELY needs to be fully vaccinated.
An eight week old puppy cannot be fully vaccinated, so it is a risk to other service animals and to itself.
