So I wanted to create a list of womenâs Youtube channels. Itâs still very much under construction, but here it is.
Suggestions for Youtubers to add, categories to create or improvements to make upon the document would be very welcome.

An organization I like to donate to is the National Clearinghouse for the Defense of Battered Women, the only org in the US that works to defend victims of domestic violence who have been charged with crimes, usually for harming their abusers in self-defense, âfailing to protectâ their children in dv situations or âkidnappingâ their children while fleeing violence. Thinking about them as weâre thinking about legal retaliation against domestic violence victims!
âThe point of Womenâs Liberation is not to stand at the door of the male world, beating our fists, and crying: âLet me in, damn you, let me in!â The point is to walk away from that world and concentrate on creating a new woman, a woman who will take no place in that world, a woman who will make that world fall merely by refusing to populate it, a woman who will remake herself - and her daughters - in a far more divine image (i.e., more recognizably human) than the one she now occupies.â
- Introduction by Vivan Gornick to S.C.U.M. Manifesto by Valerie Solanas

âWe all have this awareness of each otherâs humanity, and a genuine desire to care for one anotherâ
Two single mom friends formed a sisterhood after deciding to raise their children together in a four-unit home.
Friends Holly Harper and Herrin Hopper have gone through multiple life changes in the past few years, including the end of both of their marriages. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the women found themselves living in individual apartments and struggling with the challenges of being a single parent. Harper is mom to her nine-year-old daughter and Hopper has two children, ages 13 and nine. After years of joking about raising their children on a commune, the women thought that purchasing a home together would help create a support system for themselves and their families. The two friends decided to purchase a home together in the Washington, DC area.
In August 2020, Harper and Hopper moved into a four-unit home in Takoma Park, Maryland where they rented out the remaining two units. Not long after, another single mom named Leandra Nichola contacted the women. She and her two children â ages nine and 12 â moved into the basement unit and a few months later, Harper and Hopperâs friend Jen Jacobs began renting the top floor unit.
The women call their home âSiren House,â named after the half-bird half-woman creature in mythology who lured sailors to their death with their enchanting songs. The women see the siren as a symbol of female empowerment. According to TODAY, the women hope to expand their co-housing concept to other moms.
âWeâre definitely like sisters, and the kids are more like our nieces and nephews,â Harper said in an interview with the Washington Post. âWeâre not dependent in an unhealthy way. Weâre interdependent.â
âWe all have this awareness of each otherâs humanity, and a genuine desire to care for one another,â Hopper added. âWeâre not romanticizing it. Itâs real and true and deep and doable.â
Their support for each other even extends past Siren House. Together, the women helped Nichola fulfill a life-long dream of opening a cafe. In March 2021, the women co-founded the shop Main Street Pearl, a âyouth-centered, queer friendly micro-cafĂŠâ managed by Nichola.
They say it takes a village to raise children. For these women, all it takes to form a village is a close-knit group of friends and a mutual desire for support.

Oregon Democrat Tina Kotek vies to become first openly lesbian U.S. governor
Tina Kotek is used to breaking new ground. After becoming the first out lesbian to lead a U.S. stateâs House of Representatives, she now wants to be elected the nationâs first openly lesbian governor, too.
Kotek is one of nine candidates vying for the Democratic nomination to compete in Oregonâs gubernatorial contest, hoping a win in the northwest state will break down barriers for all LGBTQ+ Americans.
âBecoming the first openly lesbian governor in the country means that I am showing young queer kids around the country that they can do it, too,â Kotek, 55, told the Thomson Reuters Foundation in emailed comments.

A conversation with women labor activists on a surge in labor activism
Wed, May 4, 2022, 2:00 PM EDT
FREE EVENT
The labor movement in the United States has gained international attention over the past several months as workers nationwide engaged in powerful collective action, and women have been leading much of the current surge. What role have women played in sparking and energizing the current labor activism? And is U.S. womenâs labor leadership at a new peak?
Join us on Wednesday May 4, from 2:00 to 3:15 pm ET as we discuss the work of women labor activists over the past year and lift up the invaluable contributions of these organizers and communities.

Welcome to Wasteless Crafts!
Introduction:
Fast fashion is one of the world's biggest polluters, and is often made in unethical circumstances. Companies overproduce clothes and set up the market in such a way that tons of clothes are thrown out every year. This isn't great for the climate.
While we consumers can't change the industry overnight, we can tackle our own wardrobe, instead. Every bit of fabric and haberdashery we reuse is one less piece of trash that ends up in a landfill. Every fast fashion item we mend or alter to be wearable again is one less item to buy.
This blog is dedicated to giving you ideas to make your own wardrobe a little more sustainable, preferably in a budget-friendly way. I'll be posting tutorials, ideas, resources, and projects that may inspire you.
Your actions may seem like nothing but a drop in a bucket, but even the biggest bucket will spill over if we all contribute!
Good luck!

How to Build Community by Karen Kerney
Gyns copy and paste the essays you write here into a google docs or something similar
We see so many brilliant takes here every day, they don't deserve to end up getting lost and forgotten on tumblr
You can even start to classify them by topic to keep them more organized. That way you can refer back to what you've already written instead of having to dedicate energy to writing the same points over and over again. And if you get termed you'd still have your work, it won't be lost
A great example of this is Ses purs ongles' compilation of tumblr posts
Also you could do this with other radfems' posts instead of your own, compiling your favorite ones, giving the corresponding authors credit, obviously
(And in the future we could even organize and publish radfem zines collecting essays on different topics)
FIRST ALWAYS PUT THEM IN OFFLINE .TXT FILES, which will be YOURS FOREVER. Iâd also advise PRINTING THEM OUT as a hard copy.
the future is now! if you want help self publishing a small publication/advertising/distributing it, we have isbns & want to help! check out ugly-truths.com
we gotta get our works on paper and in our hands :)

2022 Lesbian Visibility Day Call for Submissions
Every year on Lesbian Visibility Day, LesbiansOverEverything.Com puts out a list of âreal life lesbian adults who are living their best lives.â The women we feature usually write 1-2 paragraphs about their careers or passions and submit a picture of themselves to go along with that.
The point of doing this every year is to promote positive representation of lesbians and to highlight lesbian achievements.Â
Submissions for this year are open until Friday, Apil 22nd. If interested, please send a pic and 1-2 relevant paragraphs to [email protected]
Visibility Day articles from previous years: 2021, 2020
earlier today i saw a post saying radfems talk about problems but not so much about solutions, so letâs talk solutions:
1. meet with other women. talk about your lives, talk about your dreams, talk about what you need, then figure out how to get everyone what they need
2. look around you, where do women you know need help? help them
3. look around. where are there womenâs businesses that need support? womenâs organizations that need support? help them
4. gather women you know. use some excuse, like a book club, music parties, anything that will get women in a room together, talking and making friends. over time as you get to know and trust each other, start doing little projects and then maybe bigger projects that benefit women, that develop the class consciousness of women, that create womenâs solidarity.
look around you, there is so much to be done, literally everything helps.
@radfemsuggestion
Learn about the problems facing the women locally and what you can do with community organising, local politics and such. Are there homeless women or organisations in your area? Also think about broader issues affecting women, howâs the public transport, street lighting, public bathrooms, childcare, public schools, access to affordable nutritious food?
Get involved with your union, talk about salaries to your female coworkers and compare to male as well.
