often ill remember how cool v3′s chapter 5 is and think about how it’s the culmination of all of kodaka’s writing and comedy that he spent years working on and it was all wrapped up into one thought-provoking and tense 4 hour climax and i think about how hard it will be for other murder mystery scenarios to ever match up to it but then i remember that the entire trial revolved around a voice changer that was never explained, alluded to, or elaborated on at all

Also remember how shuichi was smart enough to solve the entire thing and figure out that Kokichi and Kaito were working together but somehow was too stupid to realize that he shouldn’t have been helping monokuma until the very very end. Like I understand Shuichi didn’t think Kokichi could have wanted to end the game that badly but that really was way too late a realization for it to be explained away with anything other than bullshit plot reasons given Shuichi’s intelligence. I stand by the plot choice made in ITMYFY that Tsumugi should’ve been pushing for answers in order to really make the trial actually believable. Shuichi and the others never would’ve given in to working with monokuma that easily, at least without a more blatant threat of death.

ALSO going back to the voice changer how did Kokichi know about it???? He obviously had this unsolvable murder plan for a while since it was foreshadowed that he wanted shuichi to be his assistant and he had the camera already in the hangar but how would he have known his assistant could emulate his voice??? He didn’t get control of the exisals until chapter five!!! Was whoever was going to help him just supposed to be really good at impressions??? Kodaka explain!!! Also why was the hopes peak history book laying on the floor in his lab before it could have possibly opened?? Was that a deliberate plant to make the others discover the truth?? Had Kokichi broken into his own lab and found the book?? Did he bring it from the library??? Sorry I’m still mad abt this.
