Since I am spring break this week I decided I would get caught up on Fairy Tail. I found one little discontinuity in the story after the Zentopia/Infinity Castle Arc. The show goes back to the original manga story line without so much as a blink of an eye. 

Natsu almost got beat by Max whereas in the Zentopia I thought the Tenrou team was beating up the New Oracion Seis. To me it seemed that Oracion Seis would have beaten up most of Fairy Tail's members . The Zentopia Arc is not even integrated into the overall story and that makes no real sense. It was clear that the Tenrou Team was still very strong and should be able to hold its own in any fight. Most of all Natsu. 

But that is not how it turned out. It is like they got no experience from the Zentopia adventure. I figured that would have been a very good warm up for the Tenrou team. They may have had trouble beating Oracion Seis, but that a given because the show has to be made interesting. They must look like they are going to lose before they win. 

But to have Natsu be comparatively weak looking against Max was just maddening. After Natsu wasted his Magic on that  roar of the Lightning Fire Dragon Max could have had his way with Natsu. 

I have been a Vocaloids fan for quite some time. In particular I have been a big fan of Hatsune Miku, but I have listened to some of the others. I really can't remember the others because I listen to them so infrequently. But here lately I haven't been listening to any Miku at all. I have become obsessed a newer Vocaloid called Mayu. I won't go into explaining the music type or what she looks like because that information because I have linked her Wikia page. 

I really can't articulate right now why I like her music, but I think it has to do with the same reason I like most vocaloid music is because it does not really fit into any genre(maybe the vocaloids are their own genre?). I normally don't listen to a lot of music, but I think listening to Mayu has changed that. I now listen to her music all time. 

Oh no! Not another post on Mouretsu Pirates. Oh, yes I have come back to this because I have feeling that my last post was confusing. I commented on how Marika and the crew of the Bentenmaru did not feel like real pirates because how they were legal and what not. I am going to expand this to Include Ironbread and Quartz Christie because they were also in the employ of a government. 

Someone pointed out to me that Ironbread at the end was basically inviting Marika and the pirates with Letters of Marque to come to vaster seas. But to me him and Quartz Christie are no better than the "pirates" in the employ of the Sea of the Morningstar government. It was pretty much left open to us to interpret what him and Quartz Christie actually do. My interpretation was that the Bentenmaru, Quartz Christie, and Ironbread were all considered military units in a technical sense. If their respective governments needed them in times of emergency they would have to answer that call or see their "Pirating License" revoked. 

The Letters of Marque make it very easy for the Planetary government of the Sea of the Morning Star to have readily available Military units without actually having to pay most of the cost of having a military. This is ground in even deeper when Misa mentions that the Galactic Empire is sense endorses the pirates. Hell the Galactic Empire has recognized and endorsed pirates of its own. At least that is what I took from the discussion that happened in the conference room of the Pirate's Nest. 

Yes, I have returned to make even more comments that no one will care about on a show that no one has watched. This time I want to talk about Mouretsu Pirates or as Crunchyroll called it Bodacious Space Pirates. This should be more tame than the last one did on Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam. 

When I first started watching this show I very excited. Don't get me wrong, I watched it until the end because it was still entertaining. But it still left me with the idea that something was missing. I couldn't figure out what was missing until the last the couple of episodes and then it hit me like a sack of bricks being thrown off the Brooklyn Bridge. It was the fact that I never really considered Marika Kato and the crew of the Bentenmaru as real pirates because of the fact that they were given jobs. 

Even though she occasionally went off and did jobs not given to her by the Harold Lloyd Insurance Union it was never quite what I expected. I could never imagine a pirate being for hire like that and I don't think I want too. I am still to fond of my romantic notions of pirates.They were the freest of free because they were never under control of one group of people. Pirates to me are the law breakers. They were the outlaws that tried to steal stuff and when someone else got in the way they were cut down. Pirates should never Obey the law because then they are no longer pirates 

Yes, I know in traditional history pirates were actually used by numerous countries when fighting wars and what not. But those were privateers and they were in the employ governments. The main difference between a privateer and a pirate are that pirates mostly take orders from no one. They attacked ships of types. 

In Mouretsu Pirates it was a lot different. The pirates were given Letters of Marque and they were technically considered part of the Military. Marika Kato and the Bentenmaru worked for the Harold Lloyd Insurance Union and were hired by clients to do certain things. Most of it was staging fake raid on Luxury Liners to entertain the people on broad. 

This to me fly in the face of what a pirate is and does. Pirates did not like to listen to anyone. They were opposed to most authority figures unless in times of great emergency. Quartz Christie at the end of the show was more like a pirate than the Bentenmaru even though she was technically in the employ of the Galactic Empire. Most of what she was doing was against the wishes of the Empires as can be seen by the fact that the Queen requested Ironbread to come and get her. 

I just recently go done watching Last Exile and while I thought overall it was a good show and what I am about to say is not particular to this show and more with shows that follow the same basic theme that was presented in Last Exile. 

My problem concerns with how Premier Luscinia or Lukia as he was called in the one episode tried to attain his goal of true world peace. Even though it happened at the end I still contend that it was the wrong way to go about. The massive war and destruction that put upon the world in Last Exile is inexcusable in my opinion. I can understand that he wanted to usher in world peace for future generation I believe it did not give him the right to violate the rights and lives of those currently living. This was the same thing that happened in Code Geass. Even in that show I found the theme inexcusable. 

Both Luscinia and Lelouch could have carried out making a better world without the need to kill people or oppress them. Both of them could have lived in the world they would have helped create, but instead they chose the cowards way out and involved more people in their meaningless slaughter. They willingly killed people who had families that would miss them. They destroyed land that could have better used to grow more food for people. They also wasted countless other resources of the planet by the machines of war they made. 

All the war, suffering, and strife could have been avoided if they would have taken the harder route and held diplomatic negotiations. While not making for an interesting show because most people have an interest in explosions and betrayal. It would have shown a much better model to emulate for the people watching. War  is always the easy way, but it is also the most crude way. It is the most crude because then you get people that look evil to other people because of the actions they have committed. This is what happened to Premier Luscinia and Liliana in Last Exile. 

Luscinia thought he was doing the right thing and convinced Liliana of the same thing. Luscinia then proceeded to tear apart nations and sacrifice there people upon the altar of war. Last Exile even showed a repetition of event between the killing of the former Augusta Frahnaz and the killing of Liliana by Dian. Not everyone will perceive the noble intentions of the person even if that is what they have. When people have seen their friends and family die because of a conflict they can't understand it breeds hatred. Even though Luscinia eventually made the world peaceful it was at a great cost. No one knows how many children were killed/orphaned because of the conflict. 

The one thing that Last Exile and Code Geass never showed were the people traumatized by the war. The people that witnessed the people being killed or the people doing the killing. This is what happened with General Orang when he decided to join the Joint Forces. He started have misgivings about the need for the killing after the Exile was used on Glacies. Just wish the misgivings and doubts would have came before all the meaningless slaughter. 

The people traumatized by the war are most likely the ones who will go on to cause the next conflict. This why I believe the theme presented was the wrong one. Sure diplomacy may always take longer and everyone may not get what they want, but to me it shows that an understanding was made and that at anytime future generations can revisit the issue and workout something else that suits them. Peace is not made by killing people and tearing the world apart. It is made by taking the time to get to know other people and actually hear them out. Peace is mutually beneficial agreement between the people involved. 

I know I am just starting the posting on episode 12, but I figured why the hell not. 

Hell yes, Eureka makes the most dramatic entry possible into the show. She is piloting the original Nirvash and she makes her appearance along with the Gekko. Ahh, the fond memories of the first series. But what is even more striking is that she reappears to help Ao. The Scub Coral that was up in space got knocked down and started to drift towards earth. Ao was originally supposed to use it as a jumping pad to re-angle himself to meet up with the Triton. Now comes the interesting part. Eureka and Ao ride the Gekko like it is a refboard. The only problem I saw was the fact that Eureka did not recognize Ao right away. But that could be because they have been apart for so long. By all accounts it has been teen years. So maybe Eureka does not recognize him because of change sin physical appearance.

I also have a feeling that Naru had something to do with this because the hole only opened when she sensed Ao was in trouble. But it is still very cool that the Gekko, Nirvash, and Eureka were in the Scub Coral. 

Why did Ao make the assumption that everyone could see the Trapar? I know if I saw something like Ao was seeing I would be telling all my friends about it. But I still can't imagine that it went that long without noticing. I live with little kids in real life and they talk abotu everything. So I could imagine Ao as a little kid trying to tell someone about it. It is just the question of anyone believing him. Who knows, maybe he tried telling Dr. Fukai about and of course Dr. Fukai wanting to protect Ao told him it was normal. 

It would seem that Gazelle is becoming very suspicious of Generation Bleu. But I can see why they seem suspicious. They act as a rescue team, but by my assumption they no more about the world than they are letting on to know. Why else would they be collecting all that Quartz for? Gazelle smells something is very wrong with the world and it became more apparent after his little chat with Truth.
