i hate the word spicy can we bring back calling things erotic
roald dahl was antisemitic and misogynistic. george orwell was openly homophobic. edgar allan poe married his 13 year old cousin. dr seuss cheated on his wife (and was racist as well as antisemitic!). hp lovecraft was racist as fuck. anyways they’re fucking dead it’s not like you’re enabling their behaviors in the afterlife or something. then again I think they bleed into the books so uh keep an eye out for that
the difference between these old white guys and jk rowling is that the former group is all dead. jk rowling is alive and using your money to oppress trans people
MY FINGERS BARELY EVEN TOUCHED YOUR STUPID FUCKING AD STOP REDIRECTING ME TO THE APP STORE
brought nothing to the gun fight. whatever man
the thing about phone in bed is that it's so awesome. almost makes you feel like betraying & destroying yourself for nothing isn't all so bad

Honestly I don’t get the fandom’s tendency to constantly punch down on Suo. Yeah boohoo he hurt your blorbos but Sakura needed to doubt the vague nature of his relationship with Suo and Nirei needed to realize that his will by itself isn’t enough to help someone. And besides, it was Nirei who said Suo too was suffering, and Sakura believed him…? Suo has no choice in this matter either. What he did was wrong, I’m not justifying his behavior at all but the vilification gets to a point. Especially in a manga where everyone and their mom gets into some sort of conflict and beaten up.
Yes I’m aware it’s all in jest and people know that Suo too is a victim of circumstance but even clowns need new joke material. Stop beating the horse when it’s in hospice
I miss Suo Hayato 😔
Wait people actually hate Yue Qingyuan???
I was surprised too. The actual "oh it's his fault, I will never forgive him for what happened to Shen Jiu and Luo Binghe" is the most common comment on TikTok and AO3. But on Twitter and Tumblr, they usually blame him for shen jius actions and the fact that the man with PTSD was unable to communicate.
We won't talk about the amount of mischaracterization because apparenlty people think he's not a nice person he's evil he's just a politician so he's forced to be nice as if he wasn't caring and calm since childhood
and we won't talk about yandere simp yue qi propaganda only bc shen jiu. OH AND ABOUT THIS HETERONORMative SHIT MEAN MEN EATER BOTTOM X STUPID SIMP TOP
I see a lot of talk on twitter of people who apparently want Sakura's father to show up in the Red Chanpuru arc for some reason. As if that horrible man appearing is the only way for Sakura to face his trauma head on.
And I'm confused, because right now Sakura is facing one of the worst fears that came from his trauma and was the one that made it hard for him to accept he was loved, and it was people abandoning him, so essentially, Suo leaving the way he did and it being revealed he was part from another gang all along was a direct hit to Sakura's trauma.
This arc is already about it, and I know for a fact Nii-sensei is about to cook some complicated dynamics in Red Chanpuru for Suo.
The potential for finally getting our parallels from the keel and Gravel arcs with Nagato and Shizuka, even Suzuri, the very clear chance for Sakura to be the one to reassure Suo that he belongs with them and he can rely on them now like Suo did for him during the Noroshi arc. Nirei finally getting to step in and tell Suo they want hin there, to be the one reassuring him instead of the other way around.
We might get Umemiya telling Suo he "doesn't have to forgive them" like he did to Kotoha, or even Sakura himself "you don't owe them anything".
The way some people still fail to understand that no matter the arc, Sakura is the MC and he learns from every single arc, that they intersect with his trauma and his growth.
I honestly don't think Sakura's father being present in the arc would contribute anything, in fact, I think it would be quite absurd. And maybe part of that is people wanting for Suo and Sakura to be connected somehow, that Sakura's father would be part of Bankoku-Gai, but they're not even from the zone close by.
I honestly think Sakura's father being directly implicated in this arc wouldn't be good writing. Sakura's father is supposed to be a figure that haunts Sakura's narrative but is never physically present.
And honestly, I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand that Suo is smart enough to put two and two together and guess who the new student is, because he clearly keeps an eye on everything happening in Makochi as much as he can, and the moment he decided to join Furin he was probably analysing everything. It really is not that hard for him to figure that the only kid whose name he hadn't heard before was the clear outsider who stands out with a unique appearance he saw in the street fight.
Suo wouldn't join Furin for Sakura, he legitimately was attending school in Makochi since he was 12, and he enrolled in Furin before anyone even knew of Sakura's existence, because he came into town like 2 days before classes started.
Why is it so hard for people to grasp the idea that Suo helped Sakura because he's kind and helpful like that and he might have recognised parts of himself in Sakura. Why does it have to be some convoluted "Sakura's father sent him there to watch over Sakura" (the man who hates his son wouldn't do that to start with), "Red Chanpuru was interested in Furin" (in a gang 2 hours away that is just interested in their own town? They wouldn't even be on their radar please) or some other convoluted bs I've seen.
Why did Suo have to have an ulterior motive to join Furin? I legitimately think he just wanted to protect and saw Furin had changed, because remember he was in Makochi pre-Furin change, and he genuinely experienced freedom and joy there but he just has a duty with Red Chanpuru. I'm sure Suo just wanted to experience the world outside of Bankoku-Gai but he never expected to get so attached.
It’s unfortunate that MDZS isn’t mainstream enough to reference in casual offline conversation, because “this is what killed Nie Mingjue” is thee best possible way to describe an offensively grating piece of music and there is simply no normie equivalent.

I’m starting to realize we may not all be ready for Racism 102, aka “often times, you don’t think ‘I’m going to be racist,’ you just act on it.”
It does not matter what other reasons you have for being racist. It was still racist. White people lashing out on people of color when In Their Feelings About Something is still racism. White people objectifying people of color for WHATEVER reason is still racism.
Reading a book where a character does a racist thing, but it's narrated in first-person and they're not saying "I racistly attack the person of color with racist intent" so clearly nothing racist could be happening
It is also somewhat frustrating to see discussions of this framed in terms of mental health---almost exclusively white people's mental health, cited as a rationale for the racism---as though no person of color ever struggles with, for example, anxiety, depression, psychosis, or the simple stress of navigating society as a racialized person.
Favourite thing about Suo is that if you would have described him before showing me a photo of him, I would have expected him to have sharp fox-like eyes that go with his calculating personality, but noooo, he has (a) big warm kind eye(s). Lowkey droopy sometimes. Pretty hooded eyes. Yes he can have a fierce look if you try to mess with him, but his default look is
