at some point, I wanna make a short list of resources frequently used by dlsite games, because a lot of people assume there's more of a baseline quality gap between "eastern" and "western" rpgmaker games than there actually is, and a lot of that comes down to the JP rpgmaker community having established avenues through which to acquire cheap royalty-free assets that specifically match the vibes of rpgs lol

the big one is "you can literally just license a soundtrack from audiostock for under 10k yen and it'll immediately give your work a significantly higher production value than using stock rpgmaker music"

you can also get sound effects and lyrical songs from there. btw.

i would also like to plug dova-syndrome for a free option! (if you watch any japanese youtubers/vtubers you will definitely recognize some music from here)

it has a ton of royalty-free music and you can search by a lot of things including general Vibe, with "game" being one of the tags you can filter by and a lot of tracks being specially made to suit RPGs, bishoujo games, etc. there are lyrical songs and sound effects there too.

you can also buy a lot of very cheap packs of royalty-free music and sound effects on DLsite, also often in bundles catering to specific genres of games or sometimes even mimicking specific styles (i.e. i've seen ones specifically meant to evoke final fantasy or tales of mana), and with regular sales and coupons. it's a bit of a step down from audiostock but if you're working with no or very low budget both of these places are still really good options for indie stuff

"Rescue!" Translation finished!

so i got just a liiitle distracted, but ive finally finished a translation of an entire chapter from the Guilty Gear XX Anthology Vol. 2 (Bros Comics) manga!

featuring anji, baiken, chipp, and robo ky (and a tiny bit of faust)!

it's 12 pages long, so ill be putting it under a readmore.

also my cleanup skills aren't the best. these raws were a bit of a pain to work with since the pages are a bit yellowed. hope it's not too bad.
