Went to a reptile meetup today at a local mall where there were plenty of big snakes and iguanas and other big intimidating reptiles and this girl was just watching the whole thing in silence with her hands closed up (as if she’s holding something) then one of the hosts saw her and pointed at her asking her if she had any reptiles, so she just quietly looked down at her hands and opened them up and there was the smallest most adorable yet ugly little baby leopard gecko just one McDonald’s sauce big everyone (and I mean everyone) erupted in awwwwwwwsss

Hi Quastion I do not own a reptile on account of being too disabled to properly care for one but I am Interested In Reptiles. If i were to go to a meetup would people be weirded out that I did not have a pet reptile to share or would they welcome me into the embrace of their reptile joy. I want to pet the lizards.

There were several people who didn’t bring any reptiles to the meetup but still stopped by and stuck close to listen to our talks and we let them hold our babies, they were so excited and curious. You don’t have to have one to be in the community, you can just observe and even just by knowing facts about them and their care will get you easily accepted, either way you’ll be fine. We reptile owners really love showing off our creatures to whoever’s ever so slightly interested.
