ROOMIE (ember) IS STILL IN NEED OF HELP!
BACKSTORY: Back in October of 2025, Ember contracted covid and never fully recovered. She's been out of work and has long since exhausted her savings. Every month has been doctors and special tests that go nowhere. We originally launched the fundraiser with the belief she would be back on her feet and working within three months. That did not happen. Thus far, we've received and spent 1220$, which we are eternally grateful for.
PRESENT NEEDS: Government assistance has been cut off so it is just me supporting both of us. I am thousands of dollars in debt from months of just buying necessities and paying the bare minimum for bills. If we were able to get 500$ a month extra, we could just barely survive. Anything more would mean we could potentially keep a bill from going to collections. Please help us at least survive.

we have not received any donations this month and I am starting to panic. today we have one of the two tests for ember's POTS diagnosis and it's going to cost us over 200$ after insurance. then we need to pay the insurance premium which is about 70$. we still don't have money for groceries because my entire paycheck is going to cover rent for next month. please help if you can.

If you have a period and the week before it starts you suddenly become extremely depressed, angry, combative, and/or irritable and struggle with serious suicidality, fatigue, intense mood swings, and become increasingly rejection sensitive — AND it all seems to stop a day or two into your bleeding, PLEASE look into Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).
It is not "normal" to experience those symptoms during your period every month. The lead up to your period should not make you want to destroy all of your relationships and then kill yourself.
If you're uncomfortable going to a healthcare provider about these symptoms for any reason, I suggest tracking your symptoms for a few months. I take note of when my mood dips, when my cramps start, when my bleeding starts, when the irritability fades, when my bleeding ends, and how bad my pain is throughout the week. Do this tracking in a physical notebook - NOT on your phone and ESPECIALLY NOT in a period tracking app. Then start making some changes to your diet and continue to track those things to see if there are any differences. This is a long process, but I promise it's at least a little worthwhile.
I've found that increasing my intake of carbs and protein leading up to my period helps a lot. I primarily focus on eating rice and red meat because I like the combo and am also anemic so I need the iron, but any high carb/high protein source should help regardless of your other dietary restrictions or needs.
For myself, the dietary changes don't cure my symptoms, but they do ease them. My best working theory is your period is putting your body under intense physical stress that then impacts your mood and mental wellbeing, and the extra carbs and protein help give your body additional energy to manage some of that physical stress. This doesn't necessarily help on the hormonal end of things, but the reduced physical stress does help reduce some of the emotional distress.
Obviously I'm not a doctor and this is not necessarily solid medical advice, but it is what I've found helps me manage some of my own symptoms with this fuckass under studied disorder.

we all know adult humans dont get enough enrichment but the other day i was walkin home past an empty playground and impulsively ran over to spin myself on this zipline merry-go-round contraption for a few minutes and it really did feel like it unlocked some neglected part of my brain. like damn we really should all go outside and play more. fuck. they werent kidding with this play time thing. have you guys heard about play time. it could be huge.
