âbiphobia isnât realâ
yeah sorry I couldnât hear you over the hour long rant my friends mom once delivered about how she really supported gay rights but couldnât stand bi people while i sat in the backseat of her car nearly in tears because the parent of someone I loved was throwing hate speech at me.
yeah I canât hear you over the minimal representation  I receive in television which is usually just a sassy assistant making a remark about her âlesbian phaseâ and how in one of the most progressive queer shows thatâs ever received critical acclaim the words âbi or panâ are never used once.
yeah I canât hear you over my ex calling me a slut after finding out I was bi and saying all I am is an indecisive whore.
i canât fucking hear you over mono queer people mocking me and jeering at my desire for representation, calling me ânot queer enoughâ, and âlaughing hollowlyâ over my attempts to explain my struggles as a bisexual woman.
yeah im sorry i canât hear you over my friends long rant about how she didnât think she could keep dating her bi boyfriend because he would probably cheat on her, and her eye rolls when i told her what she was saying was offensive.
sorry i couldnât hear you over how fucking wrong and ignorant you are.
#sorry canât hear you over the constant interrogation of my sexual history
Sorry, canât hear you over the people who treat my attraction to women like itâs less legitimate than my attraction to men.
Sorry, canât hear you over the mono queer folks who try to bar me from queer spaces.
Sorry, canât hear you over the straight men who only see my attraction to women as entertainment or an attempt to get their attention.
Sorry, canât hear you over the people who tell me my sexuality is âjust a phase.â
Sorry, canât hear you, thereâs a fucking couple acting like Iâm a sex toy they can pick out down the corner shop to spice up their sex life. And now theyâve moved on to the next bi girl, but the guy Iâve been seeing is trying to plan the inevitable threesome he assumes weâll have while pressuring me to kiss strange women in public for his viewing pleasure (despite his jealousy when I even talk to a manâŚ)
i was in the car with my mum today and she stopped reversing and looks at me and was like âis that a hickey ??? On ur neck ?????? did a boy do that to u ????????? i thought uâd be alone forever on ur laptop.â the hickey was a bruise from where i accidentally shot myself in the neck with a nerf dart while trying 2 recreate a scene in star trek. my life is so pathetic even mum wants me 2 get some

Never
Harry Potter is demisexual
Seems legit. Actually, Harry is relatively uninterested in sex in general, given that heâs a growing teen in a coming-of-age series, which seems significant.
Hmmm⌠maybe even demiromantic now that I think about it. Heâs definitely hella interested in Cho, Ginny, and Draco (you canât tell me the whole of HBP wasnât a stalking, pigtail pulling, canât focus on Quidditch, crush on Draco Malfoy, whether Harry recognized it or not) but heâs less crazy about the physical side of things every time he gets down to it.
He really seems to totally not care about the physical stuff at all. How did I not realise this before? (And yeah, major crush on Draco)
To me, itâs like he and Katniss are in the same boat almost. They could be into it, but theyâre more focused on the war and not dying/letting their friends die, but even then, itâs like a huge afterthought/hinderance.
Yeah, like maybe they wouldâve considered it if they didnât have so many other things to worry about but really itâs not something thatâs ever crossed their minds.
He never really seemed all that choked about breaking up with Cho and leaving Ginny⌠It was just a thing that happened and he moved right on as if nothing happened.
Yeah, plus if memory serves me (Iâm trying to erase Deathly Hallows existence from my mind so Fred and Remus and Tonks donât die but still) Harry never seems to think much about wanting to be with Ginny that way, and dying exposes our priorities and stuff, I feel like if that was something high on Harryâs list of priorities that heâdâŚthink about it. Even if it was just a little hint. And as for Katniss, someone tried to convince me sheâs not ace because a couple of times when she kisses Peeta she mentions a âhungerâ. That doesnât mean sex. I despair at times.
okay but guys Harry Potter is classified as a childrenâs book, right? To be honest I donât think you can expect a sexual awakening from a kidâs bookâŚ
Okay Iâm gonna break back into this discussion for a moment:
Harry Potter definitely started as a children-oriented series, but it matured GREATLY as the books went along, growing up with the characters and the original audience. Themes introduced in greater detail include: death, torture, racism/classism, dangerous political practices, and some truly horrifying ideas/concepts (remember the âMagic is Mightâ statue, featuring the naked bodies of Muggles forming a throne for wizards?). After all, that, a little expression of sexuality would hardly be the most shocking thing.
And in fact, there IS some sexual content in the books. In Deathly Hallows, the locket horcrux spawns up an image of Harry and Hermione, entwined and kissing and very specifically taunting Ron with sexual imagery/insinuation. The implication is that Ron harbors sexual feelings for Hermione, which the horcrux exploited (or, in an alternate, ace!Ron interpretation, you could also say that the horcrux was suggesting that Harry could give Hermione something Ron could not; either way, itâs a sexual scene).
Weâre not saying there should have been full-on porn in these books, obviously. Weâre just saying that some hints at sexual interest, or even at physical intimacy in general, would be expected for a teenage boy in such a series, whereas Harry seems to value other parts of his relationships and tends to have other things on his mind. Itâs notable.
At a base level, arguing that an ace headcanon isnât valid because itâs a childrenâs book isnât really going to hold up. At the most, if Rowling really did steer clear of sexual references to pacify parents and younger readers (unlikely, given point 2 above), then she left it unstated and open to our interpretation, and weâre interpreting Harry as ace-spectrum.

"We live in a world where losing your phone is more dramatic than losing your virginity"
Um ok but I donât recall my virginity having 16Â GB of memory with all my contacts, music, photos, calendars, and apps or costing over $200.
my phone is an expensive and important material object and not a useless social construct put in place to shame and commodify women
Plus I remember where I lost my virginity.
And here we have a man that has never made a woman orgasm ever
Itâs from âstrictly platonic m4wâ [[screenshot of: âIâd like to hire a lesbian for part time titfucking (southampton) We can all agree, physically speaking, titfucking is one of the safest sex acts. Given that and the general consensus from straight women that itâs a boring but sometimes necessary evil, Iâd like to hire someone that wouldnât hide the fact that it bores them and also wouldnât be prone to âcatch feelingsâ in the process. Youâre age, race, description, is all irrelevant to me; heck you can even curse me out under your breath while on the job, just so long as you have an ample enough bosom to perform the task at hand. if you have a partner that youâd feel more comfortable with if they accompanied you, thatâs fine. we can literally write the book on how to approach this, and I want to emphasize this is not born of shaming or slander in any way, itâs just bodies and capitalism. Iâm 100% sincere about this so if youâre reading this with an eyebrow raised, contact me with your resume and guidelines and we can discuss details from there]]
waiting for the day that I break my phone from sexting in the tub.

I just want to say that if you begin to identify as asexual following illness or disability or trauma or depression, you are not less asexual than someone who has always identified as asexual. Your asexual identify is valid and you belong in this community.
Destroy ableism in the ace community.
whoa. affirming.
yes yes yes yes

What is relationship anarchy?
The Thinking Asexual defines relationship anarchy as such:
relationship anarchy â This is a relationship philosophy which goes one step further than polyamory and generally dismisses any preconceived ideas about relationship structures, drawing clear lines of separation between âfriendshipâ and âromantic-sexual relationships,â relationship hierarchy, or categorizing relationships according to their behavioral and/or emotional qualities. Relationship anarchy rejects monogamy and the idea of love being finite or limited, in the same way that polyamory rejects that paradigm. Relationship anarchy, however, seeks to dissolve rigid emotional distinctions between sexual and nonsexual relationships, romantic love and friendship, in a way that polyamory usually does not. Relationship anarchy rejects emotional hierarchies of relationships: both the ranking of one romantic-sexual relationship over another and the ranking of romantic-sexual relationships over nonsexual and/or nonromantic relationships.
You can read more at the Relationship Anarchy Manifesto.
To me, relationship anarchy is about consent and explicit negotiation. Not just consent in sexual relationships, but consent in the boundaries of the relationship itself. When I have a relationship with someone, even if they donât identify as a relationship anarchist, I make sure to ask them exactly what they expect out of the relationship, how they experience attraction and affection, and what kind of boundaries they want to set. And further, it is an open and evolving process of negotiation, so I often check in to make sure everyone is happy with where the relationship is. I think everyone can practice this as relationship anarchy about treating others ethically and with respect and acceptance. My relationship with Rel has been hugely enriched since we began to negotiate our relationship on these terms. Further, it adds a new layer of depth and consideration to each and every relationship I hold, whether or not you would call that relationship a âfriendshipâ, a âromanceâ, a sexual partnership, or whatever. To me i donât have different categories of relationships that mediate my experience of other people, but rather, I experience people directly. Like all anarchy, relationship anarchy isnât about being against structures; rather, structures of relationship (like boundaries and labels, for example) are explicitly negotiated and consented to.To me, my coming to relationship anarchy has to do with my romantic orientation, which makes it difficult for me to distinguish between different kinds of affection. However, I also consider it an excellent model for ethical relationships in general, and I encourage all people to take these principles to heart whether or not they choose to identify as a relationship anarchist. To me itâs more about what you do, and the most important thing to do is respect others and their boundaries.
I hope this helps,
-Z
Being interested in someone romantically is out of my comfort-zone, but texting them âI like your faceâ every couple days seems good, right?
