Dambulla Royal Cave Temple, Sri Lanka
The cave is pretty common to find, but have you ever visited the cave temple?
In Sri Lanka, there is a cave temple built by an ancient. It is a very unique experience to visit these caves.Â
Dambulla Royal Cave Temple is also called the Golden Temple.Â
This cave was built back in the first century BCE, and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991.
Dambulla is counted as Sri Lanka's largest and best-preserved cave temple. Although more than 80 caves are found in the surrounding area.Â
As I say, there are many caves but the five caves are more popular among tourists, which contain statues, and paintings that all are related to Gautama Buddha and his life.Â
Inside the cave, you found statues of Buddha, Sri Lanka kings, and gods and goddesses.
In the search, cave researchers found human skeletons about 2700 years old. That tells the prehistoric Sri Lanka people lived in cave complexes.Â
This cave monastery is still functional and in the best shape, making this cave Sri Lanka's best place to visit.

Preah Vihear Temple, Cambodia
We all know about the Angkor Wat temple, but have you ever heard of Preah Vihear Temple?
If not, then welcome to another historic Hindu temple.
As I said, Preah Vihear Temple is a Hindu temple of Lord Shiva built around the 11th century. It was built during the period of the Khmer Empire.Â
The Khmer Empire built many iconic temples, but this one is special. Preah Vihear Temple was built on a top cliff in the Dangrek Mountains at an altitude of about 1722 feet. As this temple is built on a cliff, it is very dangerous to visit this temple in the rainy season.Â
Quick reminder: The temple is also located in a remote area, so it is better to plan everything.
In 1962, Thailand and Cambodia fought in an International Court of Justice (ICJ) for the ownership of this temple and offered that this temple be returned to Cambodia.
If you talk about the amazing view from this temple, Prasat Preah Vihear has the most spectacular scenery of all the temples built by the Khmer Empire.
If you call yourself an adventure lover, then this place is for you.

Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes, South Korea
Our last destination for today and my favorite place on this list. Now it is time to spend some time in the Natural wonders of South Korea.
Yes, you are right. I am talking about Jeju Island.
You probably heard about Jeju Island for its beauty, but did you know there are much more than you think about.
Jeju Island is one of the most commanding destinations in Korea. If you really want to experience Jeju Island then fall for me.
More than a million years ago, a volcanic eruption led to the diverse and beautiful landscapes that eventually make up Jeju Island.Â
Jeju Island is beloved for its unique topography. Jeju Island offers a natural monument of UNESCO for three great ecological marvels.
The first of the three ecological marvels is the Geomunoreum Lava Tube system with its intricate ceilings and cave walls, perfect for cave lovers. Second is the Seongsan Ilchulbong peak with its dramatic volcanic crater jutting out of the sea, which is a great place for hikers and third is Hallasan Natural Reserve where you will find the postcard-worthy sight of Hallasan Mountain, an amazing place for photographers. It is the highest mountain in South Korea.
Apart from the cave formation and sea cliffs, there are other breathtaking natural attractions that Jeju Island has to offer such as Cheonjeyeon Waterfall, Hallim Park, Spirited Garden, Bijarim Forest, and Hyeopjae Beach, to name a few.
Although this is a famous place in South Korea, still a lot of people miss this place because it is quite far from the main cities. But, I wish if you ever visit South Korea, definitely do visit Jeju island.
Chocolate Hills, Philippines
Welcome to the most breathtaking place in the world.Â
The Chocolate Hills. I know what you think, you might be thinking about the chocolate which you hide in the fridge or you might be thinking that Chocolate hill is related to chocolate? But let me tell you it is not.
Located in the central Visayas regions of the Philippines.Â
The Chocolate Hills are a group of exceptionally shaped hills on our planet. This is a magnificent landscape, there are more than 1779 cones and dome-shaped hills that form a strange geological formation that has baffled many geologists.
These hills cover an area of 50 square kilometres, they are unique hills that are almost uniform in shape and their height varies from 30 to 120 metres high.Â
The chocolate hill is made of limestone resting on clay, which makes it a natural wonder for people like you and me.
This hill is covered with grass, and when the grass dries, it turns brown, hence it is called Chocolate hills. I mean, I do not know for sure, but that's what people say.
I hope now you understand why this hill is called Chocolate Hill?
Although there are more than 1700 hills, tourists can only visit two of them. To see this stunning view, the government built two lookouts, one in Bohol and the other on Sagbayan Peak in Sagbayan.
Let me tell you a local legend:
Long ago, the town was plagued by a giant carabao (domestic water buffalo) that ate the people's crops. The people were annoyed by this carabao, so they decided to do something about it. One day, they collected their spoiled food and placed it so that Carabao could see and eat it. And as they expected, he ate all the spoiled food, but after eating, his stomach could not handle the food and as a result, he left massive faeces (poop) until he emptied his stomach. Then the faeces (poop) is dried and from the chocolate mounds.
I know, that sounds awful. But it's just a story. So, ignore it if you don’t like it or share it with your friend if you like it. And don’t forget to enjoy the beautiful view.
Prambanan Temples in Java, Indonesia
Asia is filled with beautiful temples and here is another Hindu temple. Welcome to our seventh stop which is Prambanan. Also known as Rara Jonggrang, it is a massive yet beautiful Hindu temple. It was built around the 8th century in the region of Yogyakarta Indonesia.
This temple is dedicated to the Trimurti, the biggest temple. The middle temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva- the destroyer and two smaller ones which sit on its right and left are dedicated to Lord Brahma- creator and Lord Vishnu- preserver.
Prambanan temple compounds originally consist of 240 temple structures, which represent the grandeur of ancient Java’s Hindu art and architecture.
This is the largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia and 2nd largest in southeast Asia after Angkor wat.
This is the most beautiful and graceful Hindu temple and truly a masterpiece of the classical period in Indonesia. The tallest temple of Prambanan is 47 metres in height and its peak is visible from far away and rises high above other temples.
This temple was hidden for many decades and was rediscovered by CA Lons, a Dutchman, in 1933. Because of its unique cultural and architectural marvel, it was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1991.
I hope you won’t miss the temple.

Potala Palace, Tibet
Welcome to the world’s highest palace, Potala Palace.Â
More than 12000ft above sea level, the Potala Palace is the centre of Buddhist spirituality.
The 1300-year-old Potala Palace was built by the Tibetan king Songgtsen Gamba as a gesture of love for his marriage to a princess of China, Wencheng.Â
After some time, monks came to rule Tibet and this beautiful palace became a winter quarter for the Dalai Lama. In 1959, when the Dalai Lama was exiled to India, the Chinese government took over the palace.Â
After that, the Chinese government converted the palace into a government building. They built a museum on the first floor, renovated old monuments, and painted the palace in white and red color. The red color of the palace is used for religious purposes, while the white color of the palace is used for administrative purposes.
Once you walk through the corridors lit by butter lamps into the public areas guarded by monks.
There are a lot of historical structures. This heritage site contains a huge collection of sacred texts and artwork, with outstanding elements and political struggles.Â
The Potala Palace remains an embodiment of Tibetan culture. Don’t forget to add it to your adventure.
Kumbhalgarh Fort in Rajasthan, India
We all know about the great wall of China, but did you know about the second-largest wall?
Probably not, then let's find out.Â
Kumbhalgarh Fort is built on a hilltop in Udaipur, Rajasthan. This fort was built by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century to protect his kingdom.
The whole fort is outstanding, but the wall which protects this fort makes it unique. This wall is 3600ft tall, and 38km long, surrounds the area of Udaipur. This wall is recorded as the world's second-largest wall after the Great wall of China.
Kumbhalgarh fort was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 2013, under the group hill fort in Rajasthan.Â
This fort is included in the largest fort complexes in the world. This fort is also India's second-largest fort after Chittor fort.
Kumbhalgarh fort is built in a way that it is impossible to cross the wall because after witnessing so many wars, this fort still serves as the unbreakable boundary created by Rana Kumbha.
Let me tell you a quick story about this fort:
When Rana Kumbha started the construction, everything was going according to his plan, but the wall was destroyed the next day after it was contracted. He calls Santa Maharaj, who advises him to find someone willing to die for this wall. As a king, he thought it's not right to do that, so he told Santa Maharaj to find some other solution, but the Santa Maharaj agreed to sacrifice himself for the future. After the Santa Maharaj dies, the King builds their temple in the fort, and the construction of a wall is finally completed.
Sounds fake, doesn’t it? But who knows what happened in the past? Why not just focus on today and visit this amazing fort.
Vat Phou, Laos
Laos' famous Hindu Temple, Vat Phou.
Locals also call Vat Phou as Wat Phou, the meaning of "mountain temple".
Vat Phou was built in the late 10th and early 11th century by the Khmer Empire. If you look at the centuries, this site is thus older than the famous Angkor Wat, which was built in the 12th century.
When this temple was built, it was dedicated to Lord Shiva. Vat Phou was built near the Mekong River and ruined by the Khmer Empire. This Hindu temple is located in the southern part of Laos.Â
In the 13th century, this temple was converted into a Buddhist monastery.
Vat Phou is based on the mountain Phou Khao. The Khmer Empire built this temple between two ancient cities called Lingapura and Shrestrapura. They are two important cities in the Khmer Empire.
If you are a fan of the oldest structure, then this place is for you because of its amazing structure. This place is a must-visit in Laos.

Temple of Heaven, China
If I ask you where you want to go after you die?
Then 99.9% of the time your answer would be, "I want to go to heaven." But what if I told you that you could visit heaven and return home safely.
Sounds incredible, doesn't it? But today, I am not talking about the real heaven, but a replica of heaven.
In China, there is a Temple of Heaven that will take you to heaven.
The Temple of Heaven is a royal complex of buildings located in the southeastern part of the centre of Beijing, China.
This temple was built in the 15th century by the Ming Dynasty's Yongle Emperor, who also created the Forbidden City in Beijing.
Afterward, in the 16th century, the temple was expanded and renamed Heaven during the Jiajing Emperor period. Jiajing Emperor built three more temples in Beijing, the Temple of the Sun in the east; the Temple of the Moon in the West, and the Temple of the Earth in the north.
In the 18th century, the Qianlong Emperor made some changes to the Temple of Heaven.
This complex is used for annual prayer ceremonies to Heaven for a good harvest by the Ming and Qing dynasties.
In the 19th century, Yuan Shikai, the Self-declared president of the Republic of China, performed a Ming prayer ceremony at the temple.Â
A lot of History, right?
In 1918, the temple became an important part of the culture and opened to the public for the first time.
In 1998, this Temple of Heaven was inscribed on the World Heritage List UNESCO as "a masterpiece of architecture and landscape design that simply and vividly illustrates a cosmogony of great significance to the development of one of the world's great civilizations."
The temple has a total area of 2.73 square kilometres and consists of three main groups of buildings, namely the Prayer Hall, the Imperial Celestial Vault, and the Circular Hill Altar. All of these structures are built according to philosophical specifications.
I think China is all about history, but what excites me most is its architecture. That is the only reason why you need to visit this beautiful place and don’t forget to tell people you visited Heaven.Â
Georgetown, Malaysia
Home to a mixture of Malays, Chinese, Indians, and Europeans. Malaysia is a small country at the end of Thailand. Malaysia is known for its beaches and rainforest, but there is another reason why Malaysia is so popular with tourists.
Georgetown.
Georgetown is the capital city of Penang Island. Penang Island is very famous among tourists because of its uniqueness. It has been a very important port in Malaysia since around the 16th century. In 2008, Georgetown was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This city is a perfect example of an ancient and modern lifestyle, the environment and architecture are very well blended. If you are a history lover, photographer, food lover, or architect, then this is a perfect place for you.
Georgetown is a place where you can feel the old yet warm vibes, and I think that makes this place even more lovable. Malaysia has been under the influence of China and Europe for a long time. That is the reason why you can see multicultural architecture.Â
As you roam around the city, you will see beautiful old buildings including Chinese shophouses, residential walkways, churches, temples, mosques, and a large office of the British colonial government.Â
It's not just about beautiful buildings, but street art is also famous among travelers, and if you are a social media influencer, then this is the best place for you to get some cool shorts.
One of the small and unique things in this city is "Little India". I mean, we all know that India is the second-largest country when it comes to population, so it's common to find Indians in every corner of the world. The Indian Community creates a Little India in the city and that is so cool to see.
