Regular misogyny is still misogyny when you direct it against transfems. When you accuse us of hysteria (or "screaming and crying" as you may circumlocutionarily put it) for expressing views you dislike, that's misogyny. When you explain aspects of our transfeminism that you find disagreeable (for example us taking issue with the claim that we are "seen as men") with us being too emotionally fragile and immature to face reality, that's misogyny. When you dismiss us as being too irrational and emotional to assess our own oppression objectively, that's misogyny. If you belittle, infantilize and condescend to transfeminists at every turn, if you cannot reckon with the fact that you have genuine ideological disagreements with transfeminists without resorting to misogynistic cliches to dismiss them, then you are a misogynist who considers transfems fair game for misogynizing (and you should correct that).
Remember to not just say "transmasc or transfem" when referring to the trans community as a whole.
Non-binary & genderqueer people often aren't transmasc or transfem. This isn't to say that transfem and transmasc non-binary people don't exist - they most certainly do - but using only the terms transfem and transmasc reinforces yet another gender binary.
Feminine genders and masculine genders aren't the only genders that exist. Androgynous genders, neutral genders & genderlessness, outherine genders, xenine genders, and aporine genders exist too.
Transandrogynous, transneutral, transoutherine, transxenine, and transaporine are terms too. Not to mention many people fall into multiple of those categories at the same time due to being multigender or having a mixed-gender.
Friendly reminder using a text design from my Redbubble.
[ID: Text on a black background, using the trans and intersex colors. It state the following:
"AFAB/AMAB =/= anatomy!
AFAB/AMAB =/= social treatment!
It only describes the letter on your birth certificate.
Be inclusive.
Say "people with [body part]."
Say "people socially imposed as male/female."
Stop forgetting that surgery, HRT, and intersexuality exist!"
/End ID]
AFAB/AMAB describes an event, not an identity.
[PT: AFAB/AMAB describes an event, not an identity. /End PT]
AFAB is not a noun. AMAB is not a noun. It is an acronym for an *event* - that event being what was written on your birth certificate. AFAB = assigned female at birth. AMAB = assigned male at birth.
Think about how the acronyms would sound if fully written out.
"AFABS are-" turns into "assigned female at births are-"
...Do you see how weird that is?
"AMAB people-" turns into "assigned male at birth people"
...Which is also grammatically incorrect. It should be "people AMAB/AFAB." Put the people beforehand, not afterwards.
"I'm AFAB/AMAB" turns into "I am assigned male/female at birth"
...Which speaks in present tense about a past tense event. It should be "I *was* AFAB/AMAB."
Also, AFAB/AMAB does not describe puberty, sex traits, or how you are viewed societally. Stop using them that way!
[PT: Also, AFAB/AMAB does not describe puberty, sex traits, or how you are viewed societally. Stop using them that way! /End PT]
"AFAB/AMAB" is only about what was written on a birth certificate.
Intersex people AMAB may have a vulva or atypical genitalia, a mullerian duct (uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes) or ambiguous or no reproductive organs, an estrogenized puberty (breasts, widened hips, higher voice, less body/facial hair, etc) or a androestrogenized or absent puberty, etc.
Intersex people AFAB may have a penis or atypical genitalia, a wolffian duct (prostate, seminal vesicles, vas deferens, testicles) or ambiguous or no reproductive organs, an androgenized puberty (increased muscle mass, deepened voice, more body/facial hair, etc) or androestrogenized or absent puberty.
Even perisex people AFAB or perisex people AMAB may have an alternative puberty or no puberty due to HRT or gonad damage.
Instead of using AFAB/AMAB, say what you mean. Name specific body parts. Name specific puberties. Name specific capabilities.
Use actual words for anatomy. Say mullerian duct (or the individual parts, such as cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, etc), wolffian duct (or the individual parts, such as testicles, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate,) ambiguous reproductive duct (or individual parts also seen in mullerian ducts and wolffian ducts), ovotestes, vulva (or individual parts, such as labia minora, labia majora, clitoris, vagina, urethra,) penis (or individual parts, such as scrotum, phallus, urethra), urogenital sinus, cloaca, ambiguous genitalia (or individual parts, such as clitorophallus, labioscrotum, or previously listed traits also seen in vulvas and penises), breasts, increased muscle mass, thickened vocal cords, etc.
If you're talking about puberty, name the specific puberty (estrogenized, androgenized, androestrogenized). Or say what body part you're referring to (ie; "people with breasts.")
If you're talking about menstruation and reproduction, name the abilities. People who menstruate, people capable of pregnancy, people capable of impregnating others, people capable of ovulation, people capable of sperm production, etc.
If you're talking about how society views someone, say socially imposed as female, socially imposed as male, consistent socially imposed gender, and inconsistent socially imposed gender. (More on that here [link.])

the thing about all the handwringing over the deaths of the Romanov children in particular is like. oh, so you think it's bad when kids die due to factors entirely outside of their control, like the social status they were born into? i wholeheartedly agree with you, we should end any system of government that sacrifices the lives of children born into peasant classes, which necessitates killing the entire royal family including the kids. oh? oh, okay, you were arguing for the literal exact opposite thing to happen. i see. and just to double check, you said kids dying due to the circumstances of their birth was a bad thing?
this pride it is mandatory that everyone is nicer to lesbians. especially trans lesbians
Transfem lesbians.
transfem lesbians are included in trans lesbians. this post is made in support of ALL trans lesbians
I think there's some medias that you just cannot meaningfully engage with if your main priority is shipping
(Tired aroace voice, metaphorical cigarette in hand) You don't have to make them kiss... they don't always have to kiss...
So many other kinds of human connection get put to the wayside with our current culture’s obsession with romantic love.
Don’t get me wrong it’s ok to ship romance but it doesn’t have to be the only type of relationship we celebrate in media, fandom space included.
Trans women get one free political assassination of a right wing politician this Pride season I don’t make the rules

Project Hail Mary is a fantastic example of how filmmakers can create a faithful adaptation and still take artistic liberties. The writers didn't try to copy the book to a tee, and added their own elements (the mental health room, the astrophage transition, the beach scene on erid, Grace's wardrobe etc). They understood that a film is a different artistic medium than a book and tried to write the story in a way that best suited that medium, all while staying loyal to the original story and themes.

a recruiter once called me "full of hate" for saying the military is imperialist
reblog if you are full of hate for the imperialist military
The reason why so many of y'all's feminism sucks is because you still believe deep down in your hearts that there are only two kinds of people in the world: precious, ethereal, fragile dollthings called "women", and violent, lustful, rage-fueled apes called "men". Until you throw that idea away, 3rd-grade-tier "girls rule boys drool, girls are princesses and boys are stinky :(" is as feminist as we'll ever get-- and I hope it's obvious that that's lightyears away from the bare minimum of where we need to be.
I don't know how I'm supposed to explain to ostensibly trans-friendly feminists that "women are beautiful soft things made of glass, men are obsessed with violence and sex" is exactly what the patriarchy wants you to believe. Patriarchy wants you to believe that being a woman and/or having a vagina (patriarchy generally believes those two things are synonymous) makes one shatter on impact with reality. It makes you easier to control if you are scared shitless of the other half of the population, and it makes you more compliant with your lot in life if you believe it is in the nature of the other half of the population to rape and kill rather than realise those were choices those individual rapists and murderers made. There is no way to make gender essentialism progressive and feminist, because it is one of patriarchy's tools of subjugation. Stop trying to make it progressive.
And I can scream all of that from the rooftops over and over again, and what I hear in reply is "Trans men really are men because no woman would ever decide to become an inherently evil repugnant rapist ape", and "You're so right. Trans women are women because they too are pretty delicate little objects I can fuck", and "You're non-binary? So are you fucktoy non-binary or sexpest non-binary?", and my patience runs ever thinner.
You're so right! the fact that this still needs saying after decades of feminist theory is genuinely infuriating. Bell Hooks had this covered!
The work isn't choosing better categories: it's learning to think without need categories in the first place. I mean- Please Stop trying to shove people into tidy little boxes! I escaped my box!
But how do we help people notice they're thinking in binaries without immediately sorting 'binary thinking' into another binary? This is why I say "labels are traps".
How do we train brains to stretch to continuums, and nuance, and 'grey areas'?
another Black trans woman was found murdered, louisiana this time, and the news is consistently misgendering her in all the reporting. her name was marlow trottie and she was only 35 and she was a woman. don’t let them erase her womanhood.
You can’t call yourself a leftist if you hate children tbh, like you can choose not to have them or be around them, but outright hating the most marginalised group of people in the world who have absolutely no power or control over the most basic parts of their lives and bodies is a dangerous mentality to have and you need to grow the fuck up and get out of your edgy phase and start treating everyone around you like human beings, even the ones that piss you off.
Like the older I get, the more empathy I have for children. Imagine living on this planet for less than a decade and having to figure out every single thing from scratch, only for the people around you to treat you like a living doll and constantly invalidate your feelings because you haven’t learned how to express them beyond screaming at the top of your lungs, like you’d be having meltdowns in the grocery store as well. The least you can do is offer them some grace, everything is so fucking confusing and scary and overwhelming and they’re not able to communicate that properly and no one around them is explaining shit, and they are constantly at the mercy of whether or not the terrifyingly giant adults around them CHOOSE to be kind like genuinely put yourself in the situation of a child and tell me you wouldn’t also be freaking the fuck out.
The way society treats children is borderline inhumane, and you have the audacity to call them hellspawn crotch-goblins for screaming a little bit too loud or daring to be in the same vicinity as you.
I do also believe that hating children is a sign of underlying ableism, because most of the justifications of hating children comes down to “they’re annoying” or “they don’t know how to act” or “they’re gross” and if you are unable to treat people who lack social skills, who make loud or repetitive noises, who are incontinent etc. with basic respect and dignity, then what’s the difference between hating children and hating disabled adults that share the traits you find so irritating?
This is literally what people are talking about when they say AI will be used to mainstream widely held bigotry. LLMs are trained on frequency and probability -> straight relationships are more well represented in the dataset -> straight pronouns and terms become the "correct" normal.
This is a form of backdoor bigotry from both normative facts (there are more straight than gay relationships) and well represented bigoted beliefs (men are superior to women).
Combine this with the mass of people inclined to believe (and being encouraged to believe) that if AI says and does something it must be correct

fake "secret third thing" enjoyers when the secret third thing isn't romantic not even a little:
A German regional court has ruled that Google is directly liable for the content of its AI search overviews. According to the court, previou
Let’s fucking go
This is HUGE.
1. The court holds Google responsible for statements made by its AI, considering them Google's statements (search engines have limited liability for results in their engine as they're the words of other sites/companies/people), meaning when their AI lies/hallucinates they're liable for the defamation/harm resulting from those statements.
2. Google's defense that customers are generally aware of the lack of reliability and are responsible for fact checking was dismissed. As the court pointed out, that would "significantly diminish" AI Search's stated purpose and it can't be distinguished from Google's business practices/statements as a search tool.
3. Studies have found about 91% of Google's everyday AI responses are accurate, leaving millions of searches per HOUR with potential liability for falsehoods. 56% of correct responses weren't supported by the sources the AI listed. Both of which mean Google is now liable for a LOT more AI "errors."
4. Google was held liable for 80% of court costs in this case and this precedent is expected to reverberate around the world. This is a massive shift from the 3rd-party search provider role Google has previously played and it comes right as they've tied ALL searches to their AI search.
TL;DR Google reeeeeally stepped in it this time.
