          “So…how exactly are we suppose to gain the attention of Arthur Tressler? I kinda doubt that he’s the type to go to magic shows.” This was something that’s been niggling at him since he’d read that part of the elaborate set of directions they had. Stabbing the fork into his omelet, Jack pointed it at Henley from across their table. “I’m not dressing in drag and doing the hula to get the guy’s attention before it’s even suggested. Not my style. Ask Merritt to do it.”

Bobbie grinned at Jamal’s expression, letting out a delighted little sound. “Damn, you are just too cute, you know that? Thanks for indulgin’ me. It looks pretty good. Guess we’ll see, huh?” She loved how close Jamal was with his dad and sisters. Family always meant the world to her and it felt good to be with someone who was the same way. The Harrises were good people–– people Bobbie was proud to think of as her family, too. 

The thought caused a bright smile to spread across the blonde girl’s features. Hip leaned against the counter by the coffee pot, she looked at Jamal fondly. June Carter adored her aunties (and her Uncle Mason too, of course, though the girls had a bit of an edge) and it was always a treat to watch them interact. Zora’s enthusiasm for Disney was one Bobbie shared, but her daughter absolutely had her beat. The little girl loved princesses and singing and seemed to take the lessons of kindness really to heart, which made Bobbie so proud. “God, I think Junie’ll near about burst. Oh, now I can’t wait!” The timer on the coffee machine beeped, and Bobbie filled two mugs, one for herself and one for Jamal. “If you hate it, you gotta tell me, okay baby?” she said, setting them down gently on the table. Before she sat, Bobbie grabbed some milk out of the fridge and sat, thoroughly impressed by all the food Jamal had made.
