You know what grinds my gears? People stand up for Hufflepuffs and say that kindness isn't their only virtue, that they can be brave and imaginative and cunning but kindness is the most important to them (go Puffs), but, like, people classify Ravenclaws (and Slytherins, I guess) as not having empathy or only thinking logically. Like, screw that!! Yes, I may be task driven, but daggummit I make sure that everyone is HAPPY. I account for people and their feelings! If different sides want different things, I don't go with the "better" choice, I use my FRICKEN CREATIVITY to come up with a COMPROMISE!!

JUST LIKE PUFFS CAN BE MORE THAN KIND AND LOYAL, I CAN BE MORE THAN INTELLIGENT AND CREATIVE. THINK OF THE RAVENCLAWS WHO JOINED DUMBLEDORE'S ARMY. EVEN THOUGH MY HOUSE WAS DIVIDED ABOUT THE FINAL HOGWARTS BATTLE, MAYBE THEY WEREN'T THINKING OF FLEEING OR SAVING THEIR OWN SKINS. MAYBE THEY RECOGNIZED THAT THEY WERE TEENAGERS IN A VERY DANGEROUS WAR AND THAT THERE ARE OTHER PRECIOUS THINGS THAT THEY CAN DO WITH THEIR LIVES SO THEY SHOULDN'T RISK THEM.
LIKE, I'M SORRY, BUT SO MANY LIVES WERE LOST. COLIN CREEVEY LOST HIS LIFE AND HE WASN'T EVEN SUPPOSED TO FIGHT. LET US RECOGNIZE OUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES AND PUT THEM TO THE BEST USE, LIKE IN THE INFIRMARY OR SOMETHING. WE'RE NOT COWARDS IF WE DECIDE NOT TO BE SOLDIERS
Okay, let me try again. Maybe we were thinking about other people- families, friends. Maybe we were thinking of our lives and realizing that all that we've been through was not to lead us to this battle. We were teenagers asked to fight in a battle that wasn't ours, not really (yes, it was our school that we love, but if ISIS came into your school shooting it up for Christians would you pick up a gun and shoot them back if it meant a chance of ending them? Especially if you had limited experience shooting a gun?). Yes, there is strength in numbers, but remember how in the American Revolution Minutemen were able to shoot a lot of redcoats because of their formation and numbers, whereas they themselves (simple farmers who became soldiers) shot from hiding places. If everyone was involved, there would be overcrowding and more opportunities for kills on our side. And even if the rest get the death eater, you can bet that one student will get killed before he goes.If some people do not handle themselves that well in such a game of roulette (especially with watching their friends die), perhaps even more lives will be lost. We respect those who do volunteer to fight, and we wish them the best, but we shall be where we're needed.
