Welcome to my G/T Blog!

The name’s Celeste! I’m an adult (age in bio) and I have been a fan of G/T since I was a child. I always had a fascination with giants, borrowers, and the like, and that interest never really went away. I use G/T as a form of escapism and as a coping mechanism for my mental health (I do this with practically every form of fiction I like, honestly). Sometimes I may vanish off the face of the internet for mental health reasons. I have OCD and sometimes obsessions and compulsions can be triggered in relation to being online.

I really like to write and draw, as well as create characters and put them in situations. Most of my posts will probably be reblogs and me having random G/T thoughts, though.

Current trope living rent free: giants pulling tinies apart from a fight. A pair of tinies going at it, hair pulling, clawing, cursing each other out, etc.

A giant mutual friend going “woah woah woah,” and just plucking them off of each other while they thrash and kick in each hand.

Or even better, TWO giants pull them apart, one per tiny. One of the giants is scolding the tiny they’re holding for being so reckless and unnecessarily violent. Has them plucked up by the back of the shirt and is scowling at them, dangled in front of their face.

The other giant is cradling their tiny like a limp ragdoll between their fingers and checking if they’re okay, looming over them and wiping their frustrated tears.

being overly cautious of men makes the concept of gentle male giants so insanely appealing to me because oh my gosh. What do you mean you are literally physically capable of so much harm, capable of dehumanization and weaponizing masculinity, capable of belittling and erasing any desire to embrace femininity for the sake of a traditional dynamic, yet we’re SO gentle. So careful. Lowering your voice, making your actions known before they’re performed, making it feel GOOD to just be little and protected 😭 like, going from being overly cautious and terrified to actually trusting a male presence because this giant has done nothing but prove you’re precious and worth taking care of. Being seen as beautiful and in need of affection. Casual boyishness on a controlled level for your comfort. Devotion. Maturity. Being a soft spot to someone tough. Especially scenarios where this huge guy is doing something so ridiculously gentle like brushing hair with a mini brush between their fingers. Smoothing down skirt fabric between two fingers. Pinching cheeks. It all means so much more when it’s expectations being subverted.

my all-time favorite impractical g/t trope is "random person grown to giant size in unethical lab experiment." like wtf is the purpose of it? now you gotta feed and clothe and take care of someone 20x the size of a normal person. you can barely restrain them, and they're gonna be pissed as hell that you grew them without consent. you went through alllll that effort to create an angry, scared, and depressed giant, who is probably gonna end up escaping at the hands of an employee due to genre convictions. awesome. 10/10. no notes. if i was the government and someone pitched this to me i would invest five billion taxpayer dollars on the spot i am dead serious. i love lab rat giants

Thats the point obviously. I WANT a scared confused pissed off giant so I can be the nice scientist who is lowkey against the whole operation and I can release them and let them be free but they grab me before I can leave the room and crash out of the facility with me in tow. Its all according to plan.

The best part about sizeshifting is the sizeshifting. While most people think about the convenience of shifting like grabbing something that fell into a small space or growing to reach the upper shelf, etc etc. Some people seem to forget that the can shift for others as well as themself. Like if they have a friend who really needs a hug they can grow a bit and just encompass them or if they have claustrophobia then the shifter can shrink down to a more doll like size and have their friend just snuggle around them, like a child would to a teddy bear. The shifter can also be in need of a hug and the same situations could work. One could shrink and have a secret hidden room away from everyone, so they have a place to escape. A place to recharge or leave places that are too loud or are bothering them in any sense. Which would be super helpful for shifters who deal with over sensory problems or even panic attacks if a quiet space is what they need. Not only that but if someone or the shifter needs a quick getaway from a situation due to a threat or just being uncomfortable, they can just grow and book it from that place. Are people gonna try and chase down a giant? Probably but they won’t catch up.

Just shifters shifting to help others in more emotional or mental situations. We usually think about it physically but there’s so much more to it
