Real comicbook readers with media literacy know that DickBabs' entire history in the comics is soaked in manipulative pedophilia, child grooming, misogyny, slutshaming, racism, xenophobia, cheating and straight up character assassinations.

If you’re actually a Dick fan and a Babs fan, you’d know how much the characters suffer whenever DC forces them together.

The only people who defend DickBabs are those ignorant and egostistical shippers who don’t care about the characters as individuals. They’ll excuse all the harmful toxic and abusive elements in the relationship as long as Dick and Babs are paired because They’re not fans of Dick or Barbara. They’re just fans of the ship.

dick created the mantle and everything robin stands for, but he got to grow into his own hero as nightwing

jason added compassion to robin's attitude, but his robin run was painfully short

steph was seen by civilians and rogues as a girl in a costume instead of being seen as robin

damian was struggling with his identity and social development after leaving the league of assassins, so his start as robin was marred by that

tim? he's a white boy whose (overinflated) struggles were having housekeepers and going to boarding school because his parents were busy

even duke who technically never got the robin mantle is more interesting as a robin because he's got all this nuance and development to his character

ignoring all their skills and whether or not X Y or Z us better at something, the fact that tim never gets any sort of personal development is enough to know that he is a bland character, if anything he's the best at blending in since he doesn't add anything anywhere

and i think that's why people like him, because he doesn't add anything and doesn't have nuance so you don't have to think about him. he's just there

Nightwing is a former Boy Wonder, but he's equally defined by the leading ladies in his love life. These have included several heroines across the DC Universe, but the two most notable are Barbara Gordon's Batgirl and the Teen Titan, Starfire. His fellow Batman sidekick may be who DC is trying to pair him off with at the moment, but Starfire is his one true love.

Nightwing's relationship with Starfire has been a major part of his character for decades, and it's part of what helped him become his own man. However, his romance with Batgirl always felt unnatural and forced, more of a necessity than an organic development. Here's why the Dick Grayson/Barbara Gordon romance pales in comparison to his love for a certain Tamaranean.

I'm sorry, but Barbara’s words don’t match her actions when she wasted six years chasing Dick around like a dog in his solo. One sudden “damage control” line doesn’t erase that 😅

Also, this was another annoying moment to read in his own book. “It’s why we work so well together” another corny fanfic-style dialogue. Anyway, who even cares? I’m paying to focus reading about Nightwing, not watch Barbara waste another page seeking attention.

And lol she's already in jail but she still wants to find some way to reach out to Dick. She could have called her father instead but she chose to call her bf, doesn't that still make her look clingy and obsessed with Dick. My the irony of her dialouge. 🙄 (Not to mention they're dragging him to her limited book)
