Old Tupton Ware

The work is time consuming and requires much skilled craftsmen.   As you might be able to imagine when looking at the pottery we sell.  It's a lengthy production process.  The original mould is set before tracers go to work with the finer details you see covering our pieces.  Then it's firing time in the kiln.  Next stage is hand painting with carefully chosen colours and a glaze.  Then a second firing process in the kilns.

The pottery material each old Tupton ware piece is made out of is called earthenware.  It's a traditional potters material that's both hard wearing, light and translucent.

The UK brand originates from a small Derbyshire village called old tupton.  They have since moved the lengthy manufacturing process to a more sustainable location in China.  The brand however continues to operate in England and the designs all originate from the UK.

Another pottery line we sell are plug in night lights because earthenware gives a translucent like quality and let's light shine through.  Night lights are well suited to the range.  The old Tupton ware night lights serve a purpose as well as looking nice.  They are great to light rooms or hallways at night when it's dark.
