Infertile women may not be able to give birth, but from the second the doctor says “It’s a girl”, they are raised with the expectation that someday they will have children and are groomed into that role and that is an experience that all women share and men, regardless of identity, never will.

Not to mention that women most likely won’t find out about fertility problems until her mid 20s at least. So that’s two decades of expectations and socialization and internalizing their community/society’s message about women’s “role”

And once she knows, she gets the message from society that she’s a failed woman
