Where are the flying cars at, man?

It's taken a while to put this into words, but...

My gripe with AI isn't that it's deceiving, but that it's subtly deceptive. With Photoshop and CGI, I know what I'm seeing isn't real, for the most part (dragons, space pirates, etc). With the rise of AI, I have begun to scrutinize and examine to the extreme. My sense of wonder has been ruined; now I just wonder if it's AI.

And maybe it was the jolt I needed to stop taking things at face value, but I wonder, at what cost.
