Homage to Akira, for the GOOD FOR HEALTH, BAD FOR EDUCATION Akira fanzine curated by @wrenmcdonald! The zine will be available at Anime NYC this weekend at the @peowstudio table and online through Wren after!

Akira is one of the greatest films and mangas of all time and I’m so glad I got to really dive into this one and make a piece for the zine!! I drew the moment when Kiyoko hijacks Kei, plus several other small vignettes from the end of the film.

This Riso printed poster version, with scarlet red and blue ink, will be at Designer Con this weekend! It’s also up in my shop now. Catch me at table TE7 to snag this print in person!!

Since she used to be in shadowclan, i imagine that she still rides on her good ol’ chopper (which is the main type of bike in shadowclan). Since shadowclan live in a swamp/marshland type of territory, most of their motorcycles have various degrees of rust/oxidizing due to the damp air. But i also imagine that their medic/mech cats are specialized in making sure the bikes perform well despite the rust.
