I’ve noticed some get upset when the show is ‘mean’ to Ben but Alien Force season 3 showed exactly why it’s needed enough people were nice to him for a month and he ignored everyone else blew up the omnitrix unleashed like half his alien roster on the streets of bellwood turned his best friend into a trapped mutant abomination for the second time and then died as chromastone. For the sake of everyone around him by god keep him humble

A lot of people dislike Azmuth for it but it still stands as more interesting to me that the creator of the Omnitrix and smartest being in 5 galaxies isnt a benevolent genius but a very flawed, honestly morally gray, individual who needs help to do good. We're introduced to the guy indifferent to the destruction of the universe and himself because he's so disillusioned after the device he made for peace ended being just another sought after weapon of destruction. Ben at the time really had to inspire him that anything good could come from the universe (and himself). I like that he has a lot of skeletons in his closet such as Malware and ascalon, and that he drives people mad or away or both like Myaxx, Psychobos, and Albedo. His first act of genius wasn't altruistic but a weapon that made the person he valued most, Zennith, abandon him forever. He's stubborn, arrogate, prone to mistakes, and more like Ben than either of them would like to admit

I’m rarely against any Omnitrix features that fit the device and make logical sense*, and don’t usually blame the show for fan discussions, but I truly believe Alien Force introducing a genetic repair function had an exclusively negative impact

It’s really funny people response to ‘some things from the reboot will be carried over to the comic’ is ‘Man Of Action are dictators destroying the classic continuity we must rescue Ben 10 for the people’

I always forget how good early OV is until I get a rewatch going
