about your switcheroo au… would it be alright if I made my own, going off of your ideas? I’m particularly curious about expanding on Pearl’s backstory, I’m not sure if I’ll write a fic on it, but I think making my own alternate-alternate universe could be fun if that makes sense? With a bit of a different timeline, and more details with what exactly happened with Pearl! An au of your au? (Rather than an entirely new one based off the show, if that makes sense)

Of course! Other people have made their own songs and fanfictions based on Switcheroo AU over the years. And I know I'm the slowest artist in the world lol.
My basic idea with Pearl in the AU is everything is the same up to Pink Diamond's "shattering", but some time afterwards (whether you think the war ended there or went on for years before the Diamond blast) Pearl was poofed in a skirmish and captured. Rose, not wanting to compromise her newly cemented identity, didn't try to rescue her from Homeworld. Out of sight out of mind like she did with Bismuth.
Pearl was interrogated by Blue and Yellow but couldn't tell them anything due to the compulsory command to never speak of Pink being Rose again. She was then imprisoned on Homeworld until Steven's confrontation with White and the start of Era 3.
