For a minute I thought that was Franky and Sanji turned him into ash by mistake what a dumbass

I dont remember where i heard this, but the phrase “the system doesnt need to be fixed because it isnt broken, the system is working exactly as intended and needs to be dismantled” has always stuck with me, and i think it applies here. The issue is that neither team stands for that. One stands for maintaining the status quo (the heros), which like is obviously Not The Solution but is an understandable position for a bunch of children high off of a life time of propaganda to take. and the other one stands for killing the products of this fucked up society without addressing the system that made them, and then violently tearing everything to the ground with no intention of building something better in its place (the villains).

Quirkism, despite the fact that overcoming these prejudices is a major part of the growth arc of one of the most important characters in the story (bakugo), goes almost entirely unaddressed the whole story. Everyone has grown up in a world that tells them that their quirk makes their worth and they barely question it because it is so integral to the way their society functions that they cannot imagine a world without it. Whenever it’s brought up, its always on a deeply personal level. “Society is fucking over me, specifically” and not “society is fucking over all of us”. People are so used to the massive holes in this worlds foundation that they dont even see them.

i think (narratively) this is because Izuku’s dream has always been to be a first responder when what the world needed was a revolutionary.

anyway thats what i like about mha worldbuilding that is tbh probably unintentional but nevertheless absolutely fascinating to consider.

Can someone write Zosan angst about Zoro picking up on smoking after losing Sanji? It can be a break up, or during Whole Cake Island, or Sanji is dead but just...argh, the thought of Zoro smoking because Sanji smelled like cigaretts is haunting me
