"feels like everyone's suddenly saying they didn't come from here," ruby mused, relieved to finally be speaking to someone else who could say they'd grown up in dc. as far as ruby's fake memories allowed her to recall, she'd moved to dc when she was young. "there's this, like, weird phenomenon of people acting like they just woke up here one day. i swear i don't remember this happening before..." which was entirely because she hadn't been here before. "what d'you reckon that's all about?"

freddie had never really thought about it before, but now that the other mentioned it, she had to agree. "it does seem that way, doesn't it? i mean, the east coast is kind of a melting pot of people and cultures, but that's also moreso new york. kind of interesting that there's so many here in dc." she shrugged, "i have no idea. i mean, i'm not from here either, but i moved here a couple years ago. i didn't like, pop up here randomly some some claim."

"have you found anything to do since you got here?" emily knew it was hardly any of her business, but she was still struggling to find a job since arriving, it wasn't as if dc had the same kind level of a fashion industry as new york. "it's dreadfully boring around here."

vex'ahlia shrugged, "no, but i also haven't really looked? my days of doing are far behind me." adventuring with vox machina was fun, but after vecna, and more recently the ruby vanguard and ludinus, she was ready to go back to retired life with percy and her family in whitestone. "i find this place quite interesting though. but i'm also not from here so that probably means very little to you."

"I still find it so strange that this place changed how I look," jester was still annoyed about it - she loved how she'd looked. "I miss looking like how I did back home, it makes me sad because I don't look like mama anymore," she paused. "well, minus the colour and I'm afraid no one will recognise me,"

"...and how was that?" vex was curious now. especially since she didn't change at all. she was still noticeably a half elf, pointed ears and all. not that there was really much of her to change - probably just her ears if she were being honest. "clearly i'm guessing you weren't human back home?"

"kiki?" she questioned the nickname, who was this person.. "-nobody's ever uhm called me that before.. I would act like I know who you are- but I think that would just make it more awkward.. -so.. who are you? You can't be a regular at my store..I would remember you- are we neighbors ?"

when there was no recognition on keyleth’s face at the nickname, the smile on vex’s face began to fade, though she was still relieved to see her friend. vex was pretty sure it had something to do with the city’s magic. she sighed to herself, then put on a smile to tell keyleth it was okay that she didn’t know who she was. “apologies. perhaps i have the wrong person. i'm vex’ahlia,” she puts a hand out, deciding to just introduce herself instead. she wanted to tell keyleth that they did know each other, but she'll just wait.

"And let me ask you this, does any of your magic work here?" Amelia asked, ready to fully dive into finding out more about that. "Can you use your magic to figure out why you're here?"

vex nodded, "as far as i know. i haven't really needed to use it for any reason, but i can still tell the ability is there." she then shook her head, "unfortunately i don't have that type of magic. i'm a ranger so i'm much better with a weapon than the minimal magic i have. that would be a question probably for a wizard of some sort or someone who's more bookish."

Azula made a sphere of fire form between her hands, taking it slow. Meticulous. She allowed the sphere to burn hotter and hotter until it slowly turned a bright, blueish-white color. A small, devious smile curled on her lips as she watched the flames lick at her fingertips. It was really a test of her skill. After not being allowed to bend for so long, she began to question if she could anymore. Oh, she certainly could, and she was finally free. Azula quickly balled her hands into fists, snuffing out the flame when she noticed eyes on her, "What do you want?" She snapped, looking up with a scowl.

there were many different types of people here from many different places, vex'ahlia was aware of that. however, she surprisingly came across very few with magic. or at least those who openly practiced. so when she saw the familiar glow of fire out of the corner of her eye, she immediately turned her head to see what was going on. seeing a young woman creating a sphere of flame, she assumed they were a druid of some sort and began to approach. she stopped in her tracks at the tone, and shook her head in apology, putting her arms up in defense, "sorry, i just don't see many with your talents. a friend of mine is the only one honestly. are you a druid of some sort?"

right yes, she forget not everyone are from the same universes. amy frowned, shook her head ❝ you are right. i forget about it ❞ she need to keep reminding herself of it ❝ very few. do you know anyone from your home who is here? ❞ she hoped rory would come one day. it felt lonely without someone who knew her well ❝ ah, i see ! maybe i would not want to meet any dragons at all now ❞ they could kill you within a second, it scared her to think about it. she barely would have a chance against them if they attacked her ❝ alright, if i come across one, i shall remember it. how do you fight a dragon? ❞ she asked ❝ no surprise. i hope they don't appear up in dc. i have heard strange creatures can turn up out of nowhere sometimes ❞

a smile crept to vex's face and she nodded, "i seem to be one of the lucky ones in that regard. my husband and one of my friends is here. it's nice. especially having my husband around. i do miss our family, but at least i'm not alone." she shrugged, "like i said, there's some good ones. and actually my friends and i killed five chromatic dragons many years back. how do you fight them? with luck and a lot of firepower." she sighed as if she were tired, "there were seven of us and we still struggled often with each one that we fought." she shook her head though she was agreeing with the other's comment, "no, i definitely hope not either. i'd prefer to keep all that in the past. i don't need to fight another."

"Oh, hey. You can come on in. Sorry about that. I had taken a nap in the back and forgot to open the shop back up." Jake replied with a smile. "Welcome. We have all your antique goals and dreams."

after what felt like forever (probably only a couple minutes) knocking on the door, freddie finally got an answer. she was about to turn and leave so it was good that he finally unlocked the door. she smiled back, "i saw the hours on the door so i was confused when i got here and it was locked. guess i could've just called the number," she shrugged, "anyways i just wanted to check this place out. see if there's anything cool for my shop or apartment."

"Are you sure we should even be doing this? It just seems like a waste of time." santana admitted with a shrug. "if this guy wronged you, why not just slah is tires? stalking him seems a bit excessive."

"why'd you come with then?" vex asked with a raised eyebrow. she honestly could have followed this person by herself but this girl decided to tag along at some point. "this isn't stalking. i'm just tracking his movements." she said matter of factly. "there's a difference."
