Wish I Stayed Gone.

❝ yep, don't understand those people ❞ simon frowned, shook his head ❝ agreed. people should listen to a no ❞ glad to hear someone agree with him ❝ sounds as a good feeling. i am jealous, wish i could feel the same way. i miss food ❞ maybe he should not have said the last part. but he really missed eating food that humans ate. only drinking blood got a little boring.

Richie knew he shouldn't have asked the other why he said it, but his curiosity got the better of him. He wasn't the type of person to just let well enough alone; all of his friends would agree with that. "I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to ask what you meant by that. Why can't you eat food?"

adjusting to the 21st century was proving to be difficult. phillip wasn't used to all of this, he was used to keeping himself to himself, enjoying his plants, and not worrying about the gossip of the ton. it was sort of hard to avoid society in such a way here, especially with technology. "i cannot figure this out," he muttered to himself, staring at the iphone like it had personally offended him. "what is the fascination with these devices these days? i cannot get away with it myself."

"I'm so glad someone else is on the same page as me! It kept making noise all day yesterday, so I just started pressing buttons, and it finally stopped. Now, it won't turn back on." Juliet sighed. "Why can't we just write letters again? It may have been slower, but it sure was easier."

the last few days had been eventful. much information to take in. it happened more in john logan’s life than it had back home. at briar it had been hockey, parties, studies and meeting up with someone almost every day. washington dc was full of life. more exciting things happening. logan sat at one of the outdoor tables at a café. a laptop on the table, cup of coffee beside it. tried writing an essay about what his goals with the business class was. his fingers tapped on the laptop as he started to sing a song he had written his first year at college, named it runaways. nothing he had told to anyone, but it was the only song he had written and recorded with an old friend who then was in the music class. they had done it just for fun. not that it was anyone's business to know. he was a hockey player, that’s all they knew. didn’t happen often he sang. sometimes he did back home, whenever he was alone in his room or if his best friends were out somewhere. ❛ let’s get in the car and drive all night and we won’t stop ‘til we’re out of sight. we’re gettin’ out ( way out, way out ). oh, we’re gettin’ out ( way out, way out ). we're taking the chance 'fore we get too old. ❜ john sang, not too loud but people around him probably heard him anyway. he continued to sing, not realizing the outdoor café was full already and the only seat left was in front of him. he skipped the rest of the lyrics, started to sing the chords instead ; ❛ leave it all behind with no regrets. baby, we’ll be runaways, run away together ❜ he stopped singing when he noticed someone was near the table he sat at ❝ sorry, hi. ❞ logan glanced up at the person ❝ did you say something? you didn't hear that, did you? ❞ he chuckled, took out the airpod from his ear. logan looked around, noticed the tables were full ❝ you can sit down if you want to ❞ he picked up his backpack from the ground. as he opened it, he closed the laptop and put it down. then put the backpack down by his feet again.

Juliet gave the other an awkward smile and nodded, although she did take the seat when he offered. "I did hear your singing, and it was very lovely. You have such an angelic voice, it's really amazing." She admitted. "Did you write the song or is it one of these new musicians. I don't know much about this century's music, but some of it is not so bad. Some of it makes me feel a bit overwhelmed."

"Ugh, one of the regular guys who comes into the shop is such a fucking sleazebag." Chloe rolls her eyes and grabs the beer bottle beside her, taking a long swig before continuing her rant. "He fucking looked me up and down earlier today and had the audacity to ask if I was a lesbian, and if not, could he take me out on a date tomorrow morning? Like, hello?" She props her feet up on the table, flipping off a few customers who give her dirty looks. Then, as an afterthought, she turns to a random person and asks, "Hey, real quick, do I give off straight vibes?"

"So, I might not be the right person to ask there. Where I am from, we didn't really have any of these terms so I am slowly starting to learn them." Juliet admitted with a shake of her head. "However, lesbian is when a woman is attracted to only women, right? So, if he thought you were a lesbian, asking you out seemed kind of pointless, right?" She sighed. "Men truly didn't get much better over the centuries, did they?"

"Oh, I'm about eighty percent sure memory loss is the reason." penelope admitted with a nod. "yeah, it's real. don't worry, i'm not like the witches from Hocus Pocus or anything. i don't eat people and i am cool with kids."

"I've seen a few too, though I haven't seen the person I miss the most." She paused for a moment, debating whether or not she could trust her or not. "My lover, Mary Louise."

"If I hear someone with that name, I'll tell them you're looking for them," Penelope admitted with a smile. "I'm always here to support the gays , considering I'm also in the queer community."

"Listen, man, this is all I got," the elder Diaz brother pleads with the store owner, holding up a twenty dollar bill, "so can you please just give me something?" The owner starts spouting something about not serving people like him, and that's when Sean decides not to bother. He storms out of the shop, muttering under his breath in Spanish about what an asshole that guy is. "Can you believe people like that? What a pendejo," he tells the poor witness who happens to be standing there. "Uh, so sorry, I'm just... trying to get a candy bar and some chips to hold myself over for now... gotta wait til pay day to get a full meal, but I'm scared that won't even be enough..."

"Oh, I know! I didn't understand American money, i'm from Korea, and the guy was so rude. maybe he's just an asshole? Like, he's mad at his own horrible life so he is taking it out on everyone." rumi admitted with a shake of her head. "oh, you have to join me for dinner than. no one in Korea goes without food, it would be very disrespectful.." rumi told him. "You like Korean food?"

"Listen, man, this is all I got," the elder Diaz brother pleads with the store owner, holding up a twenty dollar bill, "so can you please just give me something?" The owner starts spouting something about not serving people like him, and that's when Sean decides not to bother. He storms out of the shop, muttering under his breath in Spanish about what an asshole that guy is. "Can you believe people like that? Enid looked over at the other and frowned a bit. "I mean, a candy bar and chips are like five bucks, maybe seven since this is considered a convenience store, but wow. That's awful." enid shook her head. "Well, did you want to get something at another store, or would you like to eat lunch with me. I don't mind the company and it's free, so neither of us has to pay."

this  wasn't  where  she  belonged.  she  didn't  want  to  be  here  by  any  means  but  the  first  week  of  being  here;  she  had  desperately  searched  for  a  way  home.  something  that  had  failed  spectacularly.  it  would  seem  there  was  truly  no  way  to  get  back.  “where  can  people  find  a  job  around  here?”  talia  questioned  with  a  heavy  sigh.  “i  figured  that  if  i'm  stuck  here…  i  need  to  work  to  live.”  she  crossed  her  arms  over  her  chest  and  shook  her  head.  “i  wouldn't  even  know  where  to  start  or  what  sort  of  job  i  would  even  suit.”  the  woman  wished  more  than  anything  that  she  could  be  back  at  basgiath. 

"Well, the first place that most folks go to is the local library. They got posters of jobs and the lady behind the counter is really nice. The older one, not the young one, she's kind of a bitch." Harley admitted with a smile. "You must be new here. you've got that lost kinda look in your eyes."

"Wow, that guy seemed like a complete ass." Max admitted, shaking her head. She couldn't believe how cold people could really be, and she grew up with some backstabbing bitches that she called her best friends. "Oh, okay. Don't worry about him, we'll get you some food and you can keep your money. It'll be my treat. You like burgers or like, tacos?" Max asked the othe with a smile.
