And they end up in denial or having an even harder time leaving abusive and toxic relationships because they’ve been convinced and have convinced themselves that LGBT+ relationships and people cannot, in any way, be abusive or toxic because ~they aren’t like those gross hets~

and lgbt people with intolerant homophobic families feel even more pressure to stay in abusive relationships especially if entering that relationship blew up their whole life

This isn’t hypothetical. I know a lesbian woman who stayed in a really shitty relationship because she felt pressured to present an idea of “good” gay relationships, she felt pressured to represent and that is not fair and not healthy.
