He can’t even imagine what she’s been through but he can see the pain they’ve inflicted upon her every time he looks at her and it kills him inside, the guilt. He should’ve searched for her. He should’ve saved her. Sure, at first, he did ask questions. He didn’t buy what the other guards had told him. But with time, he gave up and then he ― stopped. He stopped searching for answers. He will never forgive himself for that which is also why he’s been avoiding her for the past couple of days.
